I posterized the timing so its on 2s, as well as experimenting with a lighter vs darker half tones. thinking about doing web series like these since I tend to tone my storyboards my work and not for my personal stories. What are your preferences?

Well, I think the darker tone felt more fitting for the mood you wanted to convey for the character. Felt the lighter one was kind of detached from it

I prefer the dark one. I think it reads easier, keeping the eye focused on the characters as they pop from the background. Might also be better for people who aren't in the industry and can't "read storyboards", which I'm learning is a skill that most people don't possess.
