So true Shiesty! We had 2 properties and we were also tenants before that. We had some good tenants, but we also had some really bad ones. The money lost on the bad tenants made it so we never saw profit. Landlords have a lot of money tied up in those properties and anything that threatens the small margin of profit can ruin someone. Not to mention how they totally screwed landlords during covid. Thankfully we sold ours right before that.

When enough landlords abandon buildings or sell off properties to other people who may not be able to financially support maintenance, etc. and the city comes after the landlord for not living up to their obligation of maintaining the building, the city takes over.
