I put together a satellite loop of #Milton's incredible lifecycle, spanning genesis, its extreme intensity, landfall in Florida, and extratropical transition. Its definitely one of the most unique tropical cyclones and I honestly can't believe it happened.

Had it not been sheared towards the end, its storm surge woulda been massive

We were most fortunate that it weakened considerably before hitting land. We also got to witness the role of hurricanes in sustaining barrier islands

I still can't get over the wobbles followed by the rapid clearing associated with the EWRC.

Michael was 3x more powerful than Milton. True CAT 5 at landfall in Mexico Bch. Tight eye maintained into SW Georgia. Milton was CAT 2 at best. Eye wall collapsed prior to landfall. Another nothing burger spawned by @weatherchannel and @CNN

Water vapor brightness temperature -- colder values indicate more moisture while warmer ones correspond to less.
