I really enjoyed Allie Beth Stuckey’s interview with Jeremy Boreing! He described his guiding principles- ones we’ve seen so many podcasters forsake. 1.) REPRESENT the audience 2.) CHALLENGE the audience 3.) Discourage their worst impulses 4.) Lead them in authentic directions He asks, “Is the decision that I’m going...

So, I’ve started to study Fuentes. It appears he degrades himself to the vulnerabilities of his audience (lonely young men, porn addicts, etc) to resonate with them via forming a parasocial trauma-bond with his audience. So, as a consequence, when people attack Fuentes, his audience perceives it as an attack on them personally too, especially given the likelihood of pre-existing insecurities that made them vulnerable to Fuentes’ tactics in the first place. Then, Fuentes seeds his propaganda narratives to them while they’re alienated within the resulting dismissive defense mechanisms that operates like an echo chamber, because his audience no longer trusts the people outside of their trauma-bonded subculture. These are cult tactics. Nick Fuentes is a cult leader. Not sure if I’ll continue sharing my analyses and insights publicly. The game has begun.

I learned a long time ago, the wrestling business is not as much about the physical. It’s more of the connection emotionally to the audience either negative or positive …it’s really about making people FEEL something. Make them laugh, make them sad, make them mad, make them THINK…that’s the REAL magic of the game.

Majority Report responds to The Bulwark: Emma: It's an existential threat to their brand if their audience starts to think they are not interested in getting Democrats elected across the board The voters are not where that class of media person is. The voters want to cut off arms to Israel. They want to tax the hell out of billionaires Sam: Their audience is not people who watch their shows. Their audience is with the establishment of the Democratic Party. The tension is with the donor class There is no appetite anywhere for people to come out and denounce Hasan Piker. They are trying to create an appetite

Jeff Bezos: “You don’t understand my audience” When Charlie Rose asks him if the iPad is a “Kindle killer” in this 2012 interview, Jeff gives an incredible response: “It’s a very different product, and I can give you an example. If I came to you and said: ‘Charlie, I love your show, but we’ve got to sex it up. We need fast cuts and vicious arguments between your guests.’ You would rightly say to me: ‘Jeff, I love you man, but you don’t understand my audience. We have a cerebral conversation here. It’s what we do, and it’s how we’re differentiated.’” He continues: “When people come to me and say: ‘You’ve got to have full-motion video and color on the Kindle.” I say: ‘Why? You think Hemingway is going to pop more in color?’… You don’t understand my audience.” Jeff explains that his vision for the Kindle is a purpose-build device for reading where no tradeoffs have been made—every single design decision is optimized for reading. And knowing exactly who his audience is gave him conviction in the Kindle team’s design decisions—even when everyone at the time was saying that the iPad would crush them.

Sound Ventures' Guy Oseary on identifying creative talent versus entrepreneurial talent: "My job was to identify musical artists before anyone had heard of them, sign them very quickly, and then help them reach an audience. So when I meet a founder, it actually feels the same." "I always listen to every startup pitch like it's a song, an album, or an artist, and I say, 'That guy's got talent. He's a rock star. We just need to make sure the world knows it.'" "I feel like I've been doing the same job since I was a teenager, which is identifying talent and helping them reach an audience."

Good on Hasan for setting the precedent that if some nobody is a bit too mean to you on Twitter that gives someone like him with an audience of millions permission to put them on blast and give to signal to his audience to attack. It’s a shame Gucci doesn’t sell confidence :(

I have to share another clip bc this episode is SO GOOD! .Jeremy Boreing makes the Doomer Podcast trend so clear. Business is down when your party is in power, so you have to convince the audience they’re still LOSING. He says, “Not only do you go to foreign audiences, but you have to tell the same people who just won that they lost.” The message is that the voters aren’t in control: “The Epstein pedophile class is actually who controls it all. We only thought we were winning, but if anything we’re further behind than ever!” He says Tucker Carlson & his crew are “STILL running as the losers.” It’s a cynical way to grow an audience, and it’s recklessly apathetic to the country’s survival. 🎥:
