@jamusp I wish. Just once, I could rebuild a motor like that. Instead I have to go through shit like this.

I would love to have an engine stand like that!

I’m no mechanic, but I’m pretty sure that was a VW VR6 engine and you don’t find them in a Porsche…but, still cool!

That’s amazing, now that Porsche Cayenne will last another 10,000 miles before something else breaks

That's a Porsche 958.2 engine. A beautifully made engine.

This is China showing bigger balls than the scamerica culture that does not have videos like this here. Because the majority of adults lack intelligence to know this.

@jamusp Watching stuff like this is why Discovery Turbo (formerly Motor Trend) has become one of my favorite channels.

Man they have come a long way since the cheap knock off crap they had in the 80's and 90's now they not only mastered everything we make but surpassed us in efficiency and productivity. We should not feel good about this.

There are hospitals dirtier than this workshop. Amazing. Love the meticulously precise work. Kudos.

I would have about 437 pieces left over.

the guy is an idiot, you don't use a tongue wrench in reverse unless it is a left handed thread and you don't use it as a breaker bar. I bet the calibration is way off, good luck putting it back together

Not realistic at all. Where is the scene showing him looking everywhere for his 10mm?

I’m almost certain that that engine is not out of a Porsche 958 it’s not a V it’s an offset six not sure what it’s from though. Someone mentioned VR six Volkswagen.

If this could be surrounded by 360° plexiglass and a bar on the other side. It'd be glorious.

I could’ve been a mechanic, I figure after about 5-10 of these I won’t need a manual just repetition

as somebody who has a little bit of engineering experience I look at this engine and all I can think about is a cerebral palsy victim

If only it was this fast and easy in real life. Using RTV and no gaskets, not good. No testing on a stand with gauges. Detailing, did that for a living. If only it was that easy and fast.

The Porsche Macan is the absolute dogshit turd of the Porsche line, specifically designed for tasteless dipshits who want badging, namesake, and don’t care about quality/performance. It’s the shittier grocery getter for slightly affluent white women not smart enough for Lexus.

I used to do this with Caterpillar engines all day everyday, but our rollover stands were hand crank. Had heavy metal sawhorses for the really big engines.

You left out the part where they took out the entire interior and restored it down to the carpet. It would cost an arm, leg, and torso in America.
