I’ve saved this clip from 2024. Maybe you’re a parent that needs to hear it now and maybe you’re a parent that needs to bookmark it for later to come back to. Either way if you have watched your child sacrifice the norms to not be of the norm and watched them fall short you can relate. For those that aren’t at this level yet- remember every match/game/point is big to them in moment and I think we minimize that thinking we are helping them when in reality we are protecting our own self from the hurt we feel when our child is hurting. Struggle and failure are life’s biggest teaching tools. They are also some of the most painful to go through, but more so to watch someone you love go through. I hope this helps some parents- now or in the future or even those parents of kids at the younger ages. Hopefully you focus on building healthy relationships with your kids over their win loss record. Hopefully you are praising them not only in their successes, but also in their failures of trying so they continue to just that- try.

The NYT interview with Taylor Swift on her songwriting process is so good. Here she explains her approach to choruses and bridges: “The importance for me of a bridge is it just feels like we’re painting a picture. We’re setting a scene. We have this opportunity as a songwriter to tell an entire story. Or an entire movie. Or a very detailed description of one scene in a movie. Or a very nuanced dynamic between people or a complicated emotion. And we have only so long to do this. I’ve written some really long songs in my life. But, for the most part, they’re between 3.5 to 4 minutes. You can start painting the picture in the verse. You can get to the heart of it at the chorus. But then the bridge can be where you zoom back, you walk 20 feet back, and you see what this entire painting was supposed to be. You’ve seen brushstrokes. You’ve seen the color tones. But the bridge can be when you step back and you feel everything that that piece of art was supposed to make you feel. That’s just how I feel about bridges. I came up as a songwriter in Nashville, where structure is a huge part of how you effectively tell a story, right? You go verse - chorus - second verse - chorus - bridge - chorus. Maybe you repeat that first verse if you want to. If you want to pull at some heartstrings. If it makes sense. Now, that’s something that I absolutely subscribe to…that structure is important. But I think that when you write enough songs — at least in my case — the intuitive part of your songwriting brain can kind of create a new structure that’s not as classically what you’ve been taught. Jack Antonoff is a collaborator of mine and one of my best friends. We established this thing that we love to do and we call it the rant bridge. I could point to examples like, ‘Out of the Woods’, ‘Is It Over Now?’ or ‘Cruel Summer’. And oftentimes we love these rant bridges, where it’s basically like stream of consciousness. Endless pouring-out of emotion. Intrusive thoughts, blended with metaphor with discussion with shouting. You want this rant bridge to feel the most intense of what that feeling is…that you’re trying to, establish over the course of the song and you want it to kind of be a crescendo.” *** Full interview here:

He treats his work like a diary entry (and doesn’t worry about internal or external judgment): ➡️ “What's the cause of the block? The longevity of Justin Rose’ career is incredible and he’s playing some of his best golf at 45 years old. Ahead of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am and off the back of a record breaking win at the Farmers Insurance Open, he gave a great quote about how to deal with expectation as a young up and coming star: “I think that if I look back at it now, 45 years old, I didn't quite appreciate how long a career is. I think at a tender young age of 17, 18, 19, 20, wherever you're playing your golf, you want to be playing in an environment that's obviously challenging you to be better. You want to be playing at a level where you're still being pushed, but you want to play in an environment that maybe is kind of still giving you that freedom to play the game, that freedom to grow. “I felt like I just maybe put too much emphasis on having to have it right there and now and not really thinking, OK, this is just what's good for my game, what's good for my progression, what's good for my learning, because if you keep stacking the little gains on top of one another over time, like the compounding of that takes you to a pretty good place. “So just my advice to myself would be a career's a long time.” Justin is now up to 3rd in the World Rankings and will be looking to win at Pebble Beach for the second time in his career this week.

sung hanbin’s letter to the zb1 members (full eng trans) 💌 “my beloved members who feel like family to me, this is your leader, hanbin. to be honest, i’m not sure if i’ll be able to read this letter all the way to the end, but i’ll try my best to express the things i’ve wanted to say and carefully put them into words. the time that felt like it would never come has finally come to us. maybe that’s why this moment feels both cruel and a little sad. during our activities and even in everyday life, i’ve received so much strength from our members. because of that, i always carry a heart full of gratitude toward all of you. the position of leader, which i took on for the first time, was never something light. sometimes it felt like a burden, and sometimes it felt like a heavy weight. there were definitely moments when it felt difficult. but the reason i was able to strengthen my heart and keep running forward while looking only ahead was because the members i love were by my side. in life, even until now, i’ve been more used to solving things on my own. rather than leaning on others or receiving help, i thought it was more comfortable to handle things by myself. but through the time we’ve spent together with my precious members, i gained a big realization: that i’m also someone who truly needs the help and support of others. even in difficult moments, what allowed me to stand up again was the trust that the members gave me. through all of these moments, i felt a great warmth, and with this one belief, i was able to become stronger and stand again. so with the hope that the members can walk confidently wherever they go…so that they could receive that strength, i think i tried even harder to become a good example. because i carried those feelings, there were probably many things i had to say that might have sounded harsh or painful for our members to hear. but there was only one reason behind all those words and actions: so that the members i love wouldn’t get hurt somewhere else, so that their hearts wouldn’t be hurt. if there were moments when the members felt hurt because of me, i want to take this opportunity to say that i’m really sorry, and i hope you can forgive me with open hearts. sometimes when you said things like, “hanbin hyung is here, hanbin hyung will solve it”, it often felt like a lot of pressure to me. but after realizing that those words were actually a sign of the members’ deep trust, they became incredibly precious to me… it made me feel how precious it truly was. and that’s when i felt it even more that we had really become a family. so now this moment feels even more bittersweet and regretful. even while writing this letter, my heart feels complicated and emotions that are hard to describe in words keep passing through me. but there is something i really want to say: hanbin, jiwoong, hao, matthew, taerae, ricky, gyuvinie, gunwookie, yunjinie…my members who are like my family, i love you all so much. even if we end up walking different paths from now on, i will always be cheering for you first from a place close to my heart. so with the memories we’ve built together, let’s keep our shoulders up and move forward. i hope you only go through a little hardship and that from now on your path is filled only with flowers. and someday, when the nine of us gather and meet again, let’s just smile like we do now and make sure to hug each other. from your leader hanbin, who may have been imperfect but loved the members more than anyone. march 15, 2026.” 😭💔

The Counter-Strike Content Scene might have a big problem on YouTube... YouTube removed my video for promoting unlicensed gambling despite it NOT containing any mention of gambling / case opening websites. They refuse to back down and at the same time they REFUSE to specify at which time the "promotion" is located. If they don't give us this information, I will not know how to avoid this in the future, and releasing videos becomes quite scary as I risk the removal of the entire channel despite not doing anything wrong intentionally. This is a extremely frustrating problem to have as I see a multitude of channels directly promote gambling sites and nothing is done to them, while at the same time I chose to NOT take gambling website money to avoid problems like this, it makes no sense. The only thing they have provided us is a link to their policy (I will share this in the post below so you can read it too if you want) which states Direct promotion of gambling is not allowed, but I repeat, there was none. As it was a documentary about a Counter-Strike player - Xantares, there were images of him wearing jerseys that had the names of gambling websites on them, but that is not a direct promotion. I'd like to ask the community to like & retweet this for visibility, and ideally if anyone is in contact with a person on the YouTube team that could give us a good faith explanation of what we did wrong, it would really help out not only just me, but the entire community because if I won't be able to release videos due to fear of getting strikes, I will not be the only creator is affected. At the same time I decided to upload the video here, on X, to invite the community to point out if they see how I broke the YT policy. [Talking about self-worth and insecurities] 👨🏻‍🚀: I want everyone who has ever felt like they weren't pretty, they weren't attractive, they weren't good looking, they weren't strong enough, they had insecurities, or that they might feel like they're exploding from overthinking. I think that is a common human emotion that we all have a problem we're dealing with. Our insecurities are the things that make us lash out, make us feel like we're not enough. And the thing about it, is no matter how rich you are, no matter how handsome you are, no matter how pretty you are, no matter how strong you are, no matter how great you are, no matter how intelligent you are, no matter how competent you are, there's always gonna be moments where this comes to you and I think the best thing to think in this situation is that yes i'm feeling this things, to validate yourself. You're not wrong for feeling this way. There's nothing wrong with you.
