I recall Sunak, when he was popular, explaining why increasing National Insurance was the only way to reduce NHS waiting lists and rebuild social care. "Anything else would be irresponsible and dishonest." Guess he's more comfortable with "irresponsible and dishonest" now. ~AA

In my view, it’s a long term ambition of the Tories to wean folk off the idea that NI fund is there to support NHS spending. Once that perceived link is broken, it opens the door for American style healthcare (significant Tory donors support this journey!)

@GetJamieBacon From the Telegraph....... I suspect there is some double message here to catch out the people that think a tax removal is a good thing and in reality its used as an excuse to unfund the NHS and the state pension 🤬🤬🤬🤬
