I recently presented Undeceptions Podcast’s John Dickson with a manuscript fascimile of P. Oxy. 1786 at this past week’s The Church in History AC conference. P. Oxy. 1786 is the focus document of John’s The First Hymn documentary.

The Church of England has unwittingly presented us with the perfect metaphor for the desecration of this country by the Blairite establishment. As I discussed with Charlie Rowley, Britain right now is a noble monument plastered with Blairite cr*p that has to be stripped off.

A church in Los Angeles, The First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, beautifully performed the Celestial Church of Christ Hymn (694, Stanza 3) in Yoruba language. The language + the message = heavenly. 🔥

I was recently at the Museum of the Bible and got a first hand look at P39, a late 2nd or early 3rd century copy of John’s Gospel. In particular this manuscript preserves for us the earliest surviving section of John 8. Giving us a glimpse how this passage from John read 1800/1900 years ago. If you’re curious how it reads and compares I’d encourage you to open up to your modern English translation to John 8:14-21. Having had the privilege to stand in front of and read its text, P39 reads virtually identical to what you would find in a modern translation .

The choir singing joyfully during the offertory at the closing Mass of Pope Leo's visit to Algeria. This particular hymn has become a Continental Offertory Hymn in the Catholic Church in Africa.

In my appearance on the Diary of a CEO podcast, I gave Steven Bartlett a fascimile copy of Papyrus 46 — our earliest evidence of a collection of Paul’s letters. In that particular manuscript page it contained a section of Romans 12. Take a look at P46 on the updated CSNTM website

Today, from Damascus, in Greek. After 1,500 years since the Arab conquest, we still pray in our language, in the heart of our Patriarchate. Today is especially important for the Church of Antioch, because Saints Peter and Paul are the founders of the Antiochian Church. On their feast day, listen to the Greek hymn rising from Damascus, chanted in the presence of His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch, and also in Arabic. This is not only a hymn. It is memory, continuity, and survival.

Recently, local history was made in Allada, Benin Republic. Maj. Gen. Bertin Bada was decorated as Benin’s first-ever full General of the Air Corps. A long journey peaked with medals, drums, and a Yoruba hymn tune. But not just any hymn.
