I recently started watching Twin Peaks for the first time, so naturally I had to recreate the intro and a few iconic scenes with AI. Here’s a little Runway Gen-2 experiment 👀

Some more thoughts on the hate and criticism this is receiving: First off, no one is making the bold claim that this video contends with the work of David Lynch. What captivates us, however, is the untapped potential of crafting entire scenes with just… words, free from expensive equipment, while still achieving something cinematic. Granted, it’s far from perfect right now, but the tech has moved fast and we're on the cusp of something groundbreaking. This will lead to a new era for indie filmmakers and storytellers. Also, if we’re really getting into it: art doesn't fit into neat boxes. It’s multifaceted and ever-evolving. So let individuals explore and experiment. If it doesn't resonate with you, that's alright—there's no obligation to embrace it. However, being vitriolic is neither productive nor reflective of a nuanced understanding of art. It’s also just a poor reflection of your character. I’d rather we all keep an open mind and encourage creative diversity, rather than taking an unyieldingly critical stance.

Stop wasting time following up with leads. Let our AI agents do it for you.

This is the antithesis of David Lynch’s entire worldview.

@runwayml this is one of the worst things I've ever seen in my entire life and the world is worse off with this in it. Thanks.

@runwayml When I like a piece of media I try to learn more about it and how it was crafted, look for deeper meanings and think about how it could impact my own work. But I guess forsaking the joys of creation to have a computer crap out some superficially similar images is an option too

@runwayml Hate it.

@runwayml

@runwayml

@runwayml Brother, this is dogshit

@runwayml Wow congrats, you took something from a deeply creative individual and sucked all the life and meaning out of it! You should really be proud of yourself

@runwayml This is genuinely so bad and I hate it
