I remember calling into ESPN radio after the Colts released Peyton Manning & being laughed at for believing he’d ever play again at a high level. 7 months later, Peyton Manning made this throw to complete the greatest comeback in Monday Night Football history.

Manning 2001 Broken Jaw Surgery 2006 start of neck problems - won SB - 208 consecutive starts until 2010-11 3 neck surgeries - no feeling in fingertips and minimal arm strength - won MVP & 2 Allpro1 & 2 SB app & 1 SB win 2014 torn quad 2015 torn plantar fascia - won SB

4* neck surgeries

That ball placement is just 🔥🔥🔥 I know that DB was in genuine disbelief, it’s even crazier when you see the ball land in Stockleys hand like it was a magnet.

Stokley was retired that offseason too until Manning asked for a place to crash on his FA visit to Denver.

He is the true goat idc about ranking QB purely on team accomplishments. Peyton carried sooooooo many teams to the playoffs. Also played at an elite level and won a SB after facing 4 neck surgeries in his late 30s….

@bstokley14 with the unbelievable catch was awesome he’s with Harrison Wayne as best wide outs

I fought with everybody over that too. Peyton was the greatest individual talent, never had the defense to help him.

Not in IND, I wish he’d gotten more than 3.5 seasons in Denver.

I love the center telling Peyton to get going. I miss watching Peyton so much.

Not the greatest comeback in MNF history... that was Manning vs Bucs

Agreed in terms of improbability but by deficit faced it’s still the biggest.

I remember talking so much shit about this man. Everyone said he was a corpse walking and then we got the best half decade of football ever

You weren’t alone

Sports radio was the old school form of rage baiting and they hooked you nice and good lol

No they legit believed it. They thought he wasn’t gonna be as good coming off the surgeries. I wasn’t the only one they told that to that offseason.

Always love Denver fans who act like Manning is “theirs”. He’s a Colt forever. It’s like looking at Montana as a chief not a 49er or Brady a Buc and not a Cheatriot.

Sadly it doesn’t work that way when you win a 💍 w/ two different teams. Both fanbases have a claim to him now.

Soooo in your mind Tom Brady is a Buccaneer?

I mean in my mind he’s both a Patriot & a Buccaneer since he led both to 💍s.

Against who else? The Chargers!

I take back what I said. Ryan Clark is an idiot and Mannings arm talent was very elite.

Duh lol

My argument was that his brain and preparation were what made him elite. Guess I forgot who the greatest of all time was.

That’s absolutely true. I wouldn’t say Peyton has an Elway or Rodgers type arm. But he could make every throw you need your QB to make. It was always his accuracy that was his strength more so than his arm being like a cannon.

The best thing for history would’ve been to keep Peyton for another couple years within Indianapolis and draft Andrew luck why not!

They couldn’t afford the $28 million & paying Luck as the 1st overall pick.

Under the collective bargaining agreement of the own Neil in NFL PA rookies and I lose the number one overall pick get a base salary of about 10 million a year.

They had a lot of dead $ elsewhere
