“One of the most dazzling and inventive books I’ve read in a very long time—a novel I continue to describe as indescribable. I’ve now read it twice and can’t decide if it’s a thriller, a farce, a political commentary. I don’t know what it is other than I love it” —Writers at Work

it’s incredible bc charade is truly one of the least pretentious films i’ve ever seen. it’s so self aware and comedic. people just hate old hollywood, my tan, leather husband, and audrey hepburn wearing givenchy i fear

Pretentious? Huh? It's Stanley Donen doing Stanely Donen imitating Hitchcock at his most lighthearted. WTH is pretentious about it? It pokes fun at Cary Grant's leading man at several points - the very beginning, when he gets humiliated by a child (shooting water in his face) and then when he takes the shower with his suit on. Also, the climax doesn't rely on any action-type leading-man athletic prowess. He simply has to pull the right lever at the right time to drop Walter Matthau's villain to the floor from the trap stagedoor and defeat the antagonist. The 3 villains are comic figures. The whole thing is delivered with its tongue firmly planted in its cheek. It is a terrific film with terrific performances, direction, editing, costumes, color, and panache.

But it’s the glossiest of entertainments. A terrific film all about Paris locations, glamorous clothes and zesty quips. It’s not like Bergman

It's silly fun froth. If it were realeased today it would easily cross the $60M mark, if not more. Online youngs are insufferable and the next generation will tear them to shreds.

🐨 The nickname Hia Klao comes from the new series. In the story, I have underlings and they call me Hia (bro) even though I am this pretty and they still call me Hia. 🐰 Even with lashes this thick she still gets called Hia. 🐨 Yeah, because in the story, I play like a young guy wearing a fertilizer brand shirt. 🐰 Honestly Mhee has that cool vibe. She is so cool that the underlings end up calling her Hia. 🐨 And your role is Jie (which means an older woman in Chinese) 🐰 Jiw in the series calls me Jie. 🎤 So what does Sonya call Mhee in the series. 🐰 I call her Khun Klao. But later the pronoun might change. Maybe after a few episodes. 🎤 And in real life what do you call each other. 🐰 Teng. (It is a name people use when they are really close) 🐨🐰 Teng Teng. 🐰 Mhee Teng. 🐨 I like calling her P'Son. I call her P'Son a lot. 🐰 Yeah sometimes it feels like that. Sometimes I am the younger one. Sometimes the older one. 🐨 If we go by the series then you are Jie Nok Kaew (parrot) 🐰 Ugh but in real life I do not dress bold like that. 🐨 Yeah but in real life your voice is bold though. 🐰 Then let Mhee be Hia Mhee. I actually like it when Mhee acts all manly like a Hia. I really like that. I really love it when she does this move. (lifts her arm and slicks her hair back.) 🐰That coolness. That edgy vibe.
