I remember watching mushoku tensei's Turning Point 2 first time, with no spoiler. I was traumatized. Main character dying early wasn't on my bingo card. I'm still surprised current rudeus can't go toe to toe with orsted because he showed promise during as a child the first fight.

If I recall, Orsted really does not want to have to use mana. He sucks at recovering it, so he has to hold back a lot in fights. Rudeus did well, but that was against a walking nuke trying to squish him with its pinky nail. That's how I understood it, anyway.

Rudeus did a lot of insane things while young. Tbh I expected him to be at least top 3 strongest in the verse by now. I think he's slacked a little bit because he has family now. And with orsted I want to see more of him. Hopefully the next episode does us justice

From memory the only reason that fight isn't over in a beat is one his trying to not kill Ruijerd and 2 he needs to store as much mana as possible for the end game. I believe either him or his species has a real issue recovering mana.
