There is no Executive, so-called civil society or commentator that is going to undermine the powers of Parliament. Parliament has the powers to make binding resolutions and laws, and that must not be surrendered to a Commission established by the Executive to make non-binding recommendations. Parliament is a product of a democratic process - it must be respected regardless of one’s personal views of it. It must not be undermined to pander to individuals. The General must appear to the Ad Hoc Committee established to investigate his allegations - that’s all.

Charles Owino: I just saw a senior politician saying that Kenyans should go to State House and remove the President. That one is criminal in itself. My plea to my colleagues who are actively in service is that they must remain firm to discipline. Law and order must be followed, they should not fall into the trap of politicians who want to incite Kenyans against government. RANDOM SHOTS: A leader must be out there. Must be in touch. Must be at the forefront. Must see things for himself. Must not be surrounded by sycophants who tell him all is well when it’s clearly not. A leader must be courageous, leading from the front, and not cocooned away from the pain of the people he/she leads. Rain, or shine, a leader takes the risk so his/her people do not have to. The reason to want to be in office is to make the lives of your citizens safe, easier and better. You don’t have to be liked by everybody, but you must do right by everybody for the greater good and not for the benefit of a few.
