Today, I paid a visit to the NPP Head Office in Accra to make a contribution of one million Ghana cedis to the National Executives, in support of the party’s administrative and operational costs. Every political party faces financial struggles in opposition; it’s not unusual, but it must be addressed. As someone who deeply loves the New Patriotic Party, I believe we must support our own in times like this. Look, I’m not going to lie. As a grown man I cried yesterday, because I felt broken at the realisation that I felt America had been seriously wounded in the battle to save the soul of a nation. I felt a deep sense that I had not done enough, despite fighting this fight relentlessly every day for almost six years now. I know that is nothing compared with the fight of many who have been doing this for decades. But it really hurt and I felt a sense of deep despair. Yet here I am at 5.30am ready to fight another day with my fellow warriors for a better tomorrow. We are in for the fight of our lives for good reason. We cannot allow these thugs to take away hope and the futures of our children and our grandchildren. I’m dusted off and ready for another day in the trenches with a renewed sense of purpose. My sincere worry is that one or two or three of my Republican colleagues would be susceptible to a bribe and will hand the House over to Democrats. That is why I do not support a motion to vacate at this time.

Earlier today, I traveled from Bagdogra Airport en route to Kalimpong to attend scheduled programs and Administrative review meetings. Unfortunately, due to dense cloud cover and poor visibility it was unsafe to attempt a landing and the helicopter had to return to Bagdogra Airport. I truly regret that I am unable to meet the people of Kalimpong in person today. However, our commitment to the welfare and progress of the region remains steadfast. I will connect virtually with the Kalimpong Administration from the North Bengal Secretariat, Uttar Kanya and conduct all scheduled programs and meetings without delay. Thank you to everyone in Kalimpong for your patience and understanding.
