Sorry Dane, but that is not factual, you cannot make a stronger Alberta under the current system the only way to do that is we would have to go to a Mixed-Member Proportional (MMP) Representation. The current "First-Past-the-Post" system creates the Ontario-Quebec problem because a party can win 40% of the vote in Ontario, but walk away with 70% of Ontario's seats. Under an MMP system (used in countries like Germany and New Zealand), your ballot has two votes: one for your local MP, and one for your preferred political party. How it stops the monopoly: Right now, conservative-leaning voters in downtown Toronto or liberal-leaning voters in rural Alberta feel their votes don't matter. MMP ensures that if a party gets 20% of the vote in Alberta, they get 20% of Alberta's seats. The Result: Parties could no longer form a majority government just by sweeping the suburbs of Toronto and Montreal. They would be forced to hunt for percentages of the popular vote in every single province, making a voter in Saskatchewan just as valuable as a voter in Quebec. This is the framework that would be needed to hold actual fair and equal elections in Canada.

Mr. Lloyd, how will the CPC, if I were to choose to go with your campaign how will they be able to effect changes in Ottawa? What is the plan on how the CPC will be able make those changes with a the amount of seats currently held? Would we not have a stronger voice, if Alberta chose options 2 instead of remaining with the status quo? Option 2 does not necessarily mean leaving Canada but it does send a very strong message to Ottawa if Option 2 won in the upcoming Special Ballot. I am being honest and would like to hear the plan? I think right now there is more information on Independence side of things and not with the Stronger Alberta within a United Canada. I sincerely look forward to your response. So you’re spending money and time to go against about 65% of your own base. Don’t bother screaming from the rooftops to scrap the tanker ban, don’t bother doing the same with C69. What did Harper do with Equalization Dane?
