If this is who you are learning trading from, you are fucked. yea he's the biggest "trader" in the space. and yet, he doesn't know shit about trading. No BASIC risk management rules. "This is how I made 100k today" - that day the guy loses 100k, then doubles the risk to 200k for a 1R trade, so he can say he made 100k that day. Pathetic. if this is how you wanna trade, you are completely fucked.

Qullamaggie on Big Losses “Do you know what happens every time I take a big loss? My trading goes to the next level. Because if you take a big loss, right? And you make it back or make most of it back, you know that, okay, I took that big loss, I survived. Then you can take your trading to the next level. If you're gonna scale your trading up, right? If you go from trading $10,000 positions to $100,000 positions to multi-million dollar positions, you're always going to take new record losses. That's how you scale your trading. Record gains and record losses. That's the way you scale your trading. You got to get used to it. It's going to happen to me many, many times over in my trading career. I never experienced something like this. And that's the thing in trading. You got to be prepared for anything, like literally anything can happen. Every year something crazy happens to you in trading. Obviously you can't be prepared for everything but you know, you just gotta be prepared for the fact that something crazy is gonna happen. No matter what.

Qullamaggie on How Long to Go From 9k to 1 Million “How did you go from 5K to 1 million? That’s for losers. I think I did it in 8 years. No, no, no. You know what, I’ll check. I went from 5K — let’s see, from 2013. So my accounts were actually 9K on May 20, 2013. That was the turning point for my trading. May happened. I was down like 50% on the year, and that was the turning point. So in May 2013 I had 90K in my trading accounts. Let’s see when I hit 1 million. January 2018, I hit 1.4 million. So somewhere in December 2017 my account reached 1 million. It took about three and a half years to get from 9K to 1 million. If you have a small account, guys, it’s not hard to make a few hundred percent per year. It’s not hard if you have a small account. Really, you can make it if you’re a short-term swing trader. You can make most years probably easily a couple hundred percent. And that’s the thing — you won’t have a small account after a few years. That’s the beautiful part.”

Two of my friends actually started trading; they traded for like a year, but yeah they didn’t have much success. They could have had success if they had stuck to it, but they got bored and they thought, you know, everyone thinks. You know, but it takes years and years and years, and that’s really the only difference between successful traders and unsuccessful traders. Because the successful ones don’t give up. They stick with it even if they blow up. They come back; they go back to trading. That’s what I did several times. I could just I could have just given up and you know finished my studies and gone to work. You know, worked at a regular job. And now I make as much money in a year that I would have made in a lifetime having a regular job. So dropping out of school was the best decision I’ve ever made. The funny thing is most of my friends don’t really know how much; how successful I am. Like they think I’m making like as much money as I would in a normal job.”

In my 15+ years of trading, I can safely say, very few people seems to understand how to define trend. If they do, they aren't talking about it. You are not going to find any source (to my knowledge- other than myself) that will show you this. (DM if you find something, I'm actually interested). "But this looks like market structure." Correct, market structure = the sum of all trends.

Most people think you need big money to start trading. You don’t‼️ What you actually need is skill, discipline, and patience. Starting small in trading is not a disadvantage. It’s actually one of the best things that can happen to a trader. Because when the account is small, the focus shifts away from chasing money and moves toward learning the game properly. You learn risk management. You learn patience. You learn that one clean setup is better than ten emotional trades. A lot of traders blow accounts because they try to skip the process. They want the big payouts immediately. They want the fast life before building the foundation. But the market has a way of humbling anyone who moves too fast. The traders who win long term are the ones who focus on percentages, not account size. Because if you can grow $100 consistently, you can grow $10,000. If you can manage risk on 0.01 lots, you can manage risk on 10 lots. The skill doesn’t change. Only the scale does. This is why smart traders build their edge first. Once the consistency is there, capital becomes easier to access, - whether through prop firms, reinvestment, or scaling up accounts. Trading is not about one lucky trade. If you want to make a living, probably 500k at least. Or 300k. If you’re only gonna swing trade. But if you work full or part time, and trade part time, and you don’t need to take out money from your trading accounts, you could do it with 10k. If you double your 10k every year, after taxes, you’ll have 20k the next year and 40k the year after, 80k 160k 320k. Even with a small 10k account you’re gonna have millions after 6, 7 years. Once you get profitable. Assuming you don’t put more money in it. But if you’re gonna live off of it, you probably need at least 300-500k. Because with my strategy you’re gonna go sideways - your equity gonna go sideways for months and months at a time every year. The markets we are in right now, it’s a rare market that doesn’t happen most of the time. Right now, it’s almost too easy; everything just keeps going straight up. It’s the best time for my swing trading strategy, but most of the time, it can be a struggle.”
