Charlie Kirk offered conservative politics as an on-ramp to the gospel. They tried to relate to the Left, Charlie rebuked the Left. They watered down the gospel so as not to offend liberals who came to their church. Charlie went right to heart of liberalism in America (the college campus) and offended them with the truth, and then showed them how that truth led back to Jesus Christ. They accepted the narrative that because of demographics and secularism, we had to change how we communicated Christian truth. Charlie rejected that and changed the paradigm. Ultimately, I think Charlie’s method has already been proven more fruitful. Glad to have this discussion with Ryan Helfenbein and Virgil L. Walker on the Standing for Freedom Center podcast!

"We do not have to live this way." This is my last full interview with Charlie Kirk. From two days ago. And as we had before, we talked about the infiltration of progressive ideology into Christian institutions and the harm that compromise has inflicted on our neighbors. As he frequently said, leftists like Tim Alberta and Christianity Today accused him of bringing politics into the church. But he was playing defense, trying to expel the Marxism that so many pastors and ministry leaders not only coddled but amplified. When Charlie first welcomed me to speak at TPUSA Faith events, I had almost no platform by the measurements of his circle, and he brought me in and gave me a podium to speak because he thought the message, the issue was important. It was. It still is. And inspired by Charlie, we will keep up that effort.
