Boomer here,we hold the door open. We step aside for those that need. We help you carry your bags, open your hatchback, watch your cart so you can take your toddler to the restroom. You don't notice this because the younger tend to ignore us. And I don't walk like that.

As a boomer, I always hold the door open for people and so does every boomer I know.

Gen X and yes, this is what I do. Hold it open for the next person but not trying to be the world’s doorman. By the way, I raised a millennial who is like her version, but my Gen Z babies hold the door like their millennial sister. Sometimes they go too long. Ten people in and I’m telling them to come on.

Gen X - can confirm. I’m not gonna let it drop on you but I’m not the doorman. Unless you’re carrying things, struggling, old, or handicapped. Then I’ll make sure you’re through but everyone after needs to catch the door.

This depends on location. I live in a small town in the midwest. Boomers hold the door open for me more often than any other generation. Theres a good chance they will strike up a conversation that lasts up to a minute though 😆
