90% of trading is mental. The problem is very few people are willing to be honest with themselves to dig deep into what they need to improve and then improve it. It involves tremendous work dealing with one's own psychology.

The big shift for me (Stage 2 to 3) was when I quit focusing on making money (profits), and started focusing on nailing down a rules-based process. The profits then started flowing.

Stage 2 feels like progress because you stopped blowing up. The business shift is boring, it’s the same setup, the same size, and a journal that shows you’re still taking the trades that keep you in the chop

I should be the definition of stage 2 haha, a bit over 3 months since I came back to trading and it has been so frustrating, but I’m putting the work to get better, TBH I just need to stop over trading

Trading tests your mindset again, again and yet again as much as your strategy. Real progress begins when you honestly confront your weaknesses and do the work to change them.

Not really. I treated it like an actual business for over 3 years with complete focus and invesments but my strat was just poorly developed and I lost. Only on year 4 when understanding of price actions and structure came together, I started making money.
