They make sure to check the items being donated before hand so the chances of this happening are so fucking rare. A lot of these videos are staged. If you thrift cause you think you’re gonna find money nothing but disappointment is gonna be found.

I volunteered at Goodwill, we checked every pocket of clothes and items that came in. They also only kept sellable clothes, 90% of the clothes that came in were compressed into bales and shipped off for rags or recycled. Or so I was told.

Five years ago I bought a box of jewelry from Goodwill for $30. I found an ugly gold bracelet with spikes trimmed with blue dots. Took the bracelet to a jeweler. It ended up being 18 karats and the blue dots were sapphires. Valued at $15K !!!

I've been thrifting my entire life, and I have yet to find any cash, other than the 150 rupees in a suit. Value - less than a buck fitty. But I've flipped a lot of great stuff in 26 years as a reseller.
