Intelligence tests for voters is needed

A minority, albeit a sizeable, vocal one. However amusing it sounds and is, it is tragic that these people have been allowed to dictate Britain’s social, economic & international relations policy. Hopefully normal service will be resumed this Autumn.

I think there is something to be said for extending the citizenship tests that immigrants must take to those native to the country too. Some basic knowledge of history and current affairs and indeed reality would be helpful before enfranchisement.

Have he asked the Commonwealth countries if they still want to be part of the imperial family? I think, the want not!!! Just watch 👇.

They were all quick to invoke WW2 and the Empire despite being too young to have experienced either. What ‘memories’ they do have were based on films and Commando comics…yet inexplicably they all forgot the Troubles in Northern Ireland and the Good Friday Agreement.

the referendum should never have been held in the format it was (50% in / out with no pre-defined alternative)..populists were always going to come along and airily promise something to everyone to get the vote over the line (which is also why its failure was baked in)

It was good while it lasted, wasn't it ? That empire which allowed us to ship in raw materials, for a pittance, then return manufactured goods, 'Made in Britain' with a glorious mark up. A bit like China does, these days :-)
