I suck off Playtime every day but it 100% does this

It's actually part of my definition of a great movie, it teaches you how to watch it. All the Presidents Men makes you practice ignoring the foreground over and over, which becomes a theme of the film.

The restaurant scene teaches you all the tricks before it executes them!

god and it even goes into phase two where the dialogue between the two illuminates what the others are doing re: watch/time setting and appointment rrrRRR

i can't really tell what it's trying to teach me. that things happen in the background?

Someone has already put it better than I could

sure

If you’ve got the time and are able to give yourself over to the movie I think you’ll have a wonderful experience #justsayin

yeah i'll watch it if i get the chance, i didn't mean to come off negative i just don't think that aspect is that special personally but maybe i'm missing something and that's fine

i can’t wait to watch this but i’m waiting till i have something better than an ipad to watch it on.

Honestly a good call

@a_star_sapphire Genuinely, what am I supposed to notice?

@a_star_sapphire He packs the frame with visual sight gags, little moments, and just overall beautiful and interesting compositions that benefit from a larger screen

Thinking about how people may as well be talking in Simlish in this movie.

I saw a clip of this movie last year and wanted to watch it and couldn’t remember the name for so fucking long so thank you for posting this

best movie ever

Did you post that just so you could quote tweet it with this?

im so confused

Whenever this was first released on DVD (199-ish?), some nut store manager had it playing on all the tvs at a Best Buy in Davenport, Iowa, and I stood there watching for like 30 minutes until my girlfriend made me leave Took me almost 20 years to figure out what it was

I suck off tenet every day but it also 100% does it

Did you write the original tweet just to write this tweet

@VK_HM god damn i made a whole video about playtime as a video game and didn’t think of this. genius

i genuinely have no idea what's happening, I'm a dumbo please explain

favorite movie of all time playtime my beloved

Saw it in 70mm last year!

Playtime is the ultimate ‘movie that teaches you how to watch it.’ Once it clicks, it’s pure magic.

Omg have you seen Mon Oncle

brooo i watched sumn like this in college and have been looking for it since this gotta be it

Really hope to see it on 70mm one day

eugh this is a very bad sensory experience but i respect the ingenuity

i just watched playtime last night and ur absolutely right i see it omg

not exactly the same but i once saw somebody say that every kubrick movie's first act settles you into whatever offbeat wavelength he's on for a while before it really starts. eyes wide shut definitely does this

I didnt know this movie had subtitles lol

one of the most stylish films ever

why "but" like this is a bad thing at all? a film will teach you how to watch it, this is how things work.

what is this? it looks like a sort of interactive point and click of sort but the comments say its a film played in theathers? also that people say when you click something happens, so it is a point and click film of sort?

That's what my ex-wife used to say but playtime was her boyfriend.

Demy is one of the goats

I watch this film when I’m having a creative block

Crazy how immediately it communicated its premise.

💭 What kind of hyung is Leo hyung to Sanghyeon? ⁉️ 🐶: Leo hyung... touches me all the time! He touches me every day, pinches me every day, and he always does that thing... you know, that thing where he gets really close! He does it every day, he just did it earlier, and he'll probably do it after we finish. He seriously does it every single day... but I like it.
