I taught my Primary 2 students magnetic fields, and how they help us determine magnetic north and bearings using a compass. At the later half of the class, the students did a small experiment that used a magnet and compass to test what we learned. This is what Nigeria...

This brilliant young Nigerian, a teacher in China, is also a devastating cartoonist who uses humour to put the northern pol class under pressure. His positions are fresh, factual - and very brave. Definitely one of my favourite people on Twitter.

God bless you for hammering northern politicians. Once the northern masses realizes that they are being used and discarded then Nigeria will move forward but until then looting continua

@Chimsky1 Nice read! I had a meeting at the NUC, a long time ago. The entire management team attended and in my presentation, when I explained how outdated our educational curriculum was, I was lucky to escape w/o being manhandled. We just have to get it right!

While Chinese toddlers are learning about magnetic fields in practical classes, Nigerian children are learning "State and Capital". Tomorrow, Nigerians can only wail and wonder why they buy everything from China. Our educational system here is a mass misinformation programme.

📌📌 📌 "Our curriculums in Nigeria are old and mostly useless to the growth of our economy, so let’s do the needful." This is from the primary school level to the tertiary school level.

Sadly enough, even our degree is not reflective of today's reality not to talk of primary school curriculum... The whole Nigerian educational system needs to be overhauled

I taught my Primary 2 students using LED to detect counterfeit money. The students assembled LED light circuits and tested them on real money. These kids are 8 years old, and they arrived at my class when they were 6 and knew almost nothing. Our children in Nigeria are not different, but the kind of foundational education given to them is completely different from This is what Nigeria can take away from this: 1. LANGUAGE: Using Chinese language to explain LED circuits was so easy for them to understand, and took less than 6 mins. They never have to worry about understanding the grammar or remembering new vocabulary if another language was used. Humans have different abilities, and language acquisition is a skill that’s not evenly distributed. While you or your son can learn a new language fast, others might not be strong in language, but really good in science and technology. Nigeria should use native languages to teach primary school children right from the first day of school. With many native languages, autonomous regions with different official languages should be the best direction, with an option for international classes that is more English focused. Build local economies first before looking outward to setting up economies that are national or international. 2. CURRICULUM: If you don’t change with time, time will leave you behind. Nigeria’s future is left behind because of outdated curricula right from primary to tertiary. The world has moved on a long time ago, and we must wake up to reality and realize that the output of our educational system doesn’t help our economic growth. We don’t have major local industries, inventions, breakthroughs because what students learn doesn’t fit the current reality. What is Nigeria’s stage when it comes to industrialization? Is Nigeria a baby, toddler or teenager? Then her education output should be a balanced diet that will aid her growth for the next 5-10 years, and the curriculum is the structure that ensures that. With the way the world is changing so fast, the curriculum should be reviewed and adjusted annually. This is what we do. My students first came to our school so tiny, many of them don’t know how to even write their names. We taught them most of what they know today, and because we have a curriculum that is modern, targets what the students really need to know, and its always modified to reflect their realities, they have acquired so much knowledge about how the world around them works like electricity, engines, space, aerodynamics, mechanics and environmental protection in a short time Miracles and prayers alone will not come from heaven to correct our future. It’s now or we will always be the laughing stock of the world. 3. GROUP WORK: North, south, east, west, these kids are from all parts of the country. We train them to work together, and show them how their country is becoming better everyday by group work; how many sectors, companies, organizations, groups, tribes work together as a team to achieve goals that benefits everyone at a personal level. In Chinese, we always tell them to “He Zuo 合作” which means cooperate. They are learning that at a young age, so when they get old, they know that the value of cooperation far exceeds the benefits of sentiments and bigotry to their economic well being and national future. 4. TEACHERS: Teachers should earn more than law makers and governors. This is how it is in any sane and developed society. When you pay teachers well, the best brains and minds in your society will occupy schools and universities, and will inspire the next generation of inventors, businessmen and women, artists and professionals. Don’t be proud to say that you are paying your qualified primary school teachers minimum wage, it’s pathetic. I love miracles as much as I love working hard. If I have a choice, I’ll rather work hard while others wait for miracles. Nigerian’s need to adopt a mentality of working hard and being consistent.

Today, I taught my kids principle of the combustion engine focused on the crank shaft. We started by having them in groups brainstorm how they believe an engine works, then I simplified it for them, and at the end, have them create small models using toys. First, these are my kids, they are in primary 2 (8 years old). I started with them 2 years ago when they were 6 years old and most of them couldn’t even write their names. We can also do this in Nigeria: 1. Kids are all born the same, but the right nutrition at early age helps cognitive development. Let’s build stable local industries that focus on production of children meals that are rich in proteins and vitamins that are good for the children’s brain development. Too much pap and two which are carbohydrates rich aren’t sufficient, and can affect academic performance of children, whom eventually grow up to be the politicians that think giving poor people giveaways in comment sections is helping the economy. 2. Primary education is way too important to be treated as political privilege or achievement. All the countries that invested in their children such as Japan, China, US, Singapore, Finland have far superior economies and quality of life compared to the countries that didn’t. Teachers are not just civil servants, they are looked at as heroes, soldiers, critical individuals that make or break a society. They earn well, they are taken cared of and they are some of the most intelligent and creative people in a country. A keke driver knows how important his Keke is so he can make money, so he takes care of it. Don’t take care of primary school teachers, you should prepare for poverty and insecurity. Playing the blame game on political parties or candidates and insulting each other on the internet only takes our minds away from what is important. Let’s put aside political, religious, ethnic and sentimental differences and prepare a future for our children and grandchildren so they wouldn’t be slaves to my students in the future. The Nigerian education system and curriculum right now is as good as nothing. 3. Skills are part of education/degree: It is unfortunate that a former student who had so many carryovers in mathematics (which is the backbone of computer science) and barely graduated and purchased highest education certificates is confusing and discouraging people who are putting their sweat and time to get a difficult, expensive and ancient degrees in Nigeria. Considering how he failed many courses so many times, it’s not surprising that he is taking a shot at university education. Well, skills are part of degrees in normal and functioning universities and education systems with updated curriculums that fits its economy. In fact, those skills start from primary school, and I believe the professor should advocate for updated curriculums that include more modern skills, practicals, field trips, work attachments that will jumpstart Nigeria’s failing economy not destroy the little that is left in degrees and the hope millions of poor citizens have for them. 4. Native language is the way to go: Yes Nigeria has many languages, so we can use multiple official local languages in different regions to educate and run the government. English can be an optional subject in school which parents can choose. Sacrifice has to be made in order to develop, so some smaller ethnic groups that have few speakers should adopt one of the major languages in Nigeria as a secondary language to be used at home, and that would the language to use at school. Controversial? Yes, but the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. The past is the past, we can only learn from it. Let’s use these lessons and start building a better future for our children and grandchildren now. Prayers are good, but they aren’t enough and shouldn’t take most of our time and energy. We have to physically work harder than we pray.

I am actually disgusted by this. I’ve had so many teachers that changed my life and put me in the right path, without them I don’t want to think about where I would be. These teachers are sharing how much money they have in their accounts on the par day. In a society where our teachers are guiding the minds of the future, the people who will be helping us when we are later in life. I don’t think they are appreciated enough nor is the compensation package up to par. It perplexes me how they they have to spend a crazy amount of money for their education, only to struggle to get by with a smile while still being generous enough to pay for the items our children need without being reimbursed for much of it. I think it’s time we create a change, I don’t think it’s fair we expect so much of them and they give so much to us only to relieve so little. I know people are going to argue with me and say well they chose to do it so if they aren’t happy with the pay, they can get another job. While that’s true, we would be in bad shape however if they ever chose to do that. Who would be teaching our kids and preparing them for the future. I think we focus too much on things that aren’t and shouldn’t be our priority while neglecting and overlooking a major issue right below our noses. Their jobs are important and our kids would fail without them so why are we treating them like they aren’t important? It’s because it’s easy for us to think of them as our babysitters for half the day. We treat them like Nannie’s who only watch our kids while we go to work and do things we enjoy. Maybe it’s time we revisit our roles in helping them achieve our goals.

A for Almajiri Education is the foundation of any functioning economy, and Nigerians are some of the most intelligent people in other countries but with most out of school children on planet earth. As a basic human right, it is the responsibility of the whole society to not only advocate for modern curriculums that have practical and realistic value in sustaining the economy of that society in the future, but to hold their leaders accountable when they don’t invest the appropriate resources and relevance into education. This is the reason why Almajiri still exists today in 21st century, while religious education and modern education can be attained together using curriculums that are realistic and set a foundation for the future of the students and their society. Today, I taught my primary 2 students how to make a PPT using iPads. Giving presentations and using smart devices are now common in professional work places and it’s important that start giving my kids those skill sets at a young age. It will build their work ethic, confidence, realistic expectations in life and navigate them to seamlessly fit into any professional environment they find themselves in now and the future. An important teaching approach I use here is to show them less of how to do it, and just throw them into the situation to see how they can find their ways and create solutions. Only when they need help is when we show them how to do it. It makes them used to problem solving, resilience, less likely to be lazy and dependent. They themselves will be strong to initiate tackling an unknown problem and develop confidence and humility in asking for help or knowledge when they need it. Nigeria needs proper budget allocation for education and modern/designed curriculums that are useful to students and the country in the future. Vote for leaders who will enthusiastically execute these policies. If they don’t, impeach them and take any necessary action against them because they are not only destroying your economic future, but your children’s future as well. This is my idea. What must be done to fix education in Nigeria? Let’s hear from you in the comment section.

This is how I see left wing Scousers - What irritates me more than anything about them is they have the arrogance to tell people on a daily basis “Scousers are left wing” and call everyone a Tory or a wool who disagrees with them. Like they can speak for all of us. Like only they love this city and we don’t. Let me tell you something about these gang of gobshites. If you ever want to at what multiculturalism does to a city. Look at London. I have always wanted multiculturalism to work. But it’s hard to ignore the damage it does. It is ok im small manageable numbers like we have always had. But when it grows out of control you get….. London. These gang of shithouses who love Liverpool more than anyone and who are more Scouse than anyone and speak for all of us are literally advocating for Liverpool to be slowly transformed into a microcosm of the hellhole that is our capital. They are actively pushing for it. Most of them don’t even have children themselves. And that’s the world they want your children to grow up in. A replica of London in every major city. That’s how much they care about Liverpool. They want it to become the next London. If everything was all sweet and rosey down there I could understand their logic. But it isn’t. And over my dead body I will stand silent while these traitors enable our government to destroy the culture snd good harmony of our city. Absolutely disgusting. They do not speak for us. Even though they think that they can and often try to. Im going to start sharing the odd video of what is happening down in our capital so you can see what they are trying to do to our city. So we can all see the world they are pushing for. “Liverpool is a tolerant city” they always say which is true. But at the same time. We aren’t dickheads. And there is a limit to how nice we are. And this is the last city yiu want to piss off. Because if you piss us off, we bite back harder than anyone. When the Revolution begins. It will be this city that starts it. The left wingers think that because they are a gang of pushovers that the rest of us are too. Think again!

SO, THIS IS THE ELITE'S SECRET PLAN. Stealing trillions, not billions, trillions, for their brand new system and programs, with hidden, secret technology, while purposely distracting and feeding humanity lies and scraps, and conditioning them for their ultimate plan to leave humanity behind in the dust. Why? Because they believe they are better than us, and that they, these elite families and their particular bloodlines were chosen to rule humanity, like generations of their families have done through past centuries throughout time. This is another major piece of the puzzle of what is really going on while they slowly condition and lie to the population, use us to build and create things to keep the world running for them, while they are secretly engineering a new world for themselves. Whether that world is here, underground, somewhere on another planet, or both. Do you really believe they are telling you the truth about everything or what they are really doing behind closed doors? Do you really believe that they wouldn't keep certain technology and physics secret if they could benefit from it themselves but not disrupt their money making empires? Their plans are for a beautiful new world that they rule. A beautiful new world without us. Some will join to serve them. And for some reason, once again, it always involves the same usual suspects. They are starting to understand that we know and will begin to push them to act. It's time to wake up and understand the game that's being played and to understand just how you are being manipulated while they hide the truth from you and reap the benefits while others suffer. How much longer are you seriously going to put up with the bullsh*t, the lying, and the abuse of not just the children, but of all of humanity itself? Everyday we learn more and more of what's really goin on, and to be quite honest, it's getting old, and fast. I'm tired of these people and understand that without ending their reign of power and control, humanity will never fully advance or progress in a positive direction and will never actually be free. What are we really doing to stop them?
