I tested whether Earth's gravity and inertia geometry independently recovers the proposed ECDO pole Np'. The static gravity axis (orange) was just 9.45° away from Np'. ECDO vs. EDC: the geometry seems to like a coupled crust and mantle. The biggest difference between the two theories is what moves during the proposed reorientation. ECDO, as proposed by Ethical Skeptic ☀, has the moving shell extending from the surface down to the core–mantle boundary. EDC, as proposed by SpaceWeatherNews, uses a much shallower shell, roughly 100 km deep, above the low-velocity zone. So, I tested that difference directly. First up: LIPs and LLSVPs. Across every tomography model in the analysis, the alignment held up better when the crust and mantle stayed together. Applying the exact 85º crust-only correction made the fit worse. Then, I checked five major hotspot tracks. Same story. The hotspot trails were best preserved without a large independent crustal rotation, and even letting the Euler pole wander around the globe could not rescue an 85º crust-only shift. At this point, the geometry is being pretty stubborn: the crust wants to stay with the mantle. That is strong evidence against the exact shallow shell geometry tested here. It supports preservation of crust–mantle coupling during any large reorientation. One caveat: a brief out and back excursion could restore the original alignment. That version would need to be tested using records formed during the temporary displaced interval. Apparently, the theory found another level.

That is the current working condition inside the lab closest to the frontier. That era has a last day now. When a model can execute an entire software build end-to-end, the ability to write syntax stops being a skill. It becomes a credential for a job that no longer exists. Dario Amodei just told software engineers exactly how long they have. Six to twelve months. Amodei: “I have engineers within Anthropic who say I don’t write any code anymore. I just let the model write the code, I edit it, I do the things around it.” The people building the most powerful AI in history have already stopped writing code. That is not a forecast. That is the current working condition inside the lab closest to the frontier. Amodei: “We might be six to 12 months away from when the model is doing most, maybe all, of what SWEs do end-to-end.” The tech industry spent a decade making software engineers its highest-paid, most protected class. That era has a last day now. When a model can execute an entire software build end-to-end, the ability to write syntax stops being a skill. It becomes a credential for a job that no longer exists. Amodei: “And then it’s a question of how fast does that loop close.” That is the sentence everyone skipped. The code was never the hard part. The hard part was everything around it. The model just learned everything around it. Writing the code is already nearly gone. Testing is next. Deployment is next. When all three collapse into a single autonomous execution loop, the machine no longer needs a human in the chain at all. The scale of Indian immigration is rarely understood, many still think Italian migration to Australia is the largest or most defining. They are completely wrong. There are more people who were born in India living in Australia than there those with even trace Italian ancestry, and most of those Indians have arrived in the last decade! While Italians were the first break from British monoculture which has defined Australia since its inception, the peak wave of Italians was just 2.3% of the population. This was a wave to alleviate the existential threat that Australia’s small population at the time posed and so the importation of a culturally adjacent European group was proposed. Whereas now, even years old census data, Indian born is 3.6% of the population and has doubled in the last 10 years. This wave is of a far more distant population culturally and ethically, brought in for just economic reasons. So even after adjusting for population growth, the Indian born community today is roughly 1.5x more dense than the Italian at its absolute height and with little to no nation building excuse. When you account for Indian ancestry and the broader migration of the subcontinent you’re looking at closer to 6%+. We were never asked.

Right after a data center was constructed, the metadata center was constructed, the only difference between the clean water and this was that data center. I have another one as well. NEW: California surfers jump into action despite massive waves after a boat with a family of 6 onboard got taken out by a large wave. Video footage captures the moment the boat with four children and their parents tried beating a wave. "I knew right away the wave was going to get him, you know, and when it hit him, we all just kind of kicked into action and like, we got to find these guys,” said Santa Cruz surfer Darryl Virostko. Virostko and other surfers, including 14-year-old Ian Anderson, helped save the family. "I looked over and I saw a boat in the water, and then I looked in a different direction and I see this kid floating in the water just yelling for help," Anderson said. "The surfing community is a pretty tight-knit community. When someone’s in trouble, we always come together to help that person." All 6 family members survived.
