I think about this almost every day

Subjecting myself for weeks in the exponential rat maze to train myself for gambling (investing) through out the singularity

Mfs will see this, understand it, sober up from Twitter for a few seconds, and then keep scrolling.

Okay but while we’re serious, what are the most important steps up in the maze? Being able to ask for help is probably the most important one right?

The problem is that better cognitive ability also makes you better at building new mazes to trap yourself in

Just don’t get trapped, keep a steadfast grip on reality

Pretty sick analogy, finding ways of reaching into the space of unthinkable thoughts is sort of the arc of human civilization

Anyone want to try substantiating this idea with a single example of what it could plausibly apply to? Seems like no one has tried yet. Is it because any attempt is hard to classify into example or non-example? Or do the examples lack the profundity of the abstraction?

I think society is littered with people making one or two steps up/out, but they’re relative in terms of importance!

there are studies about how our brain can pick up or “sense” things without conscious processing. Stuff like predicting well above mere chance when someone is looking at the back of your head. Problem is if it’s not mathematical many don’t think it’s real.
