I think Astra is changing editing in a pretty subtle way. Instead of giving Astra one huge instruction — “make my video” — I can use GPT-6 Astra to create specific, highly customized pieces of the edit, then let CapCut PC bring everything together. That sounds simple, but it... show more

This is a much more practical way to think about AI-assisted editing.

AI creating intermediate assets is an underrated direction for creative workflows.

Custom LUTs plus editable subtitles could be a really powerful combination for creators.

This could make testing different creative directions much faster.

CapCut PC becomes much more useful when the generated assets remain editable.

Amazing

Being able to describe the look you want and turn that into a usable LUT is seriously useful.

This makes AI-assisted editing feel much more modular.

It is refreshing to see AI being used to speed up the boring parts while keeping the creative decisions manual.

Generate, import, adjust, regenerate. That is a much better creative feedback loop.

The custom subtitle workflow is especially interesting for short-form content.

This feels more like AI augmenting the editor rather than replacing the editor.

Prompting for a specific aesthetic instead of settling for a preset changes the whole process.

The regeneration loop is probably where the biggest efficiency gains come from.

The ability to iterate between generation and editing is what makes this workflow interesting.

Custom LUT generation alone could save a lot of time when chasing a specific visual style.

I like how the workflow gives the editor multiple opportunities to make decisions.

This is the kind of AI workflow that actually keeps creative control with the editor.

For example, I can prompt Astra for a custom LUT based on a very specific visual reference: Moody shadows. Muted colors. Warm highlights. Soft contrast. Astra generates the .cube → I download it → import it into CapCut PC. Now the color starts from a custom instruction rather than a generic preset.

Then I can actually judge it against the footage. Too strong? Adjust it in CapCut PC. Not quite the right tone? Refine the prompt in Astra. Bring the new .cube into CapCut PC and keep refining. The interesting thing is that generation and editing become one loop instead of two separate processes. #AIVideo

And it goes beyond color. Astra can generate customized animated subtitle effects in an .srt → CapCut PC imports it → the subtitles can sit on their own tracks → I can adjust timing, placement, typography and animation. Edit Pilot, AI Edit and AI Extend then give me more ways to polish the actual edit. #Seedance25

So maybe the productivity story here isn’t: AI edits everything. It’s: Astra creates the customized assets I need. CapCut PC lets me decide what stays. The first makes the workflow faster. The second keeps it flexible. Together, they make the distance between a specific creative idea and a finished edit much shorter. #AIVideo

The customizable part is what stands out most to me here.

The prompt → asset → edit workflow makes a lot more sense than asking AI to do everything.

The iterative loop is probably the biggest productivity improvement here.

This actually makes editing feel much easier. Breaking the work into smaller parts can save a lot of time.
