I think beating zone is more important than beating man for #NFL Wide Receivers Here's why... ⬇️

most of those “zone defenses” aren’t necessarily spot drop zone these days though, the skills you need to beat man are still very relavent vs match zone defenses which are more prevalent now

very true it’s a lot of match especially with the eagles/fangio disciples. but to counter i think that’s also a skill in understand who you’re getting attacked by and adjusting your route based off that. but yea don’t disagree

100% it’s a valuable skill, I’m just saying it’s not as easy as “teams don’t play man so let’s get a bunch of guys who find the soft spots” if ygm. Also if your recievers can’t beat man you’re gonna face a lotttttt more man lol

Depends on your role in the offense

yea true. i would also like to add if you literally can't beat man ur not gonna be good obv

Great breakdown 🔥

So agree and initial comment was YESS. But coaching is a big part of this. Especially for guys with the tools. There’s no reason they can’t. It’s just a matter of getting them to see the cues. From a college all conference WR.

Most zones become match man

Easily, all the good receivers can beat man, all the best receivers can beat whatever you put in front of them though

Raymond is killing my burden hype…

I wish madden automatically make rhe r do this in the game

YES , you can be big fast athletic as hell but the elite are the ones who can not only understand the coverages their opponents is in, but to be able to do the small things at the top , mid and beginning of the route to freeze or dismantle it.. Davante, JSN,Kupp, for example.

good take thing is that’s why scouting is kinda dumb at some points in hs most these wr are just going against man when they get to college it’s kinda the same thing it’s so situational makes scouting seem useless sometimes
