I've had cats as far back as I can remember, sometimes 3 to 5 at a time. Can't say I've ever seen any of them "fighting" their tails! But this is very funny ❣️

I had a cat that once attacked his tail. The moment he felt the pain, he thought his tail had attacked him! So he attacked it more ferociously, and by God, it had attacked him more ferociously, so he upped the ante. It took a while before he let the tail win and ran off.

Mine tried to catch his tail because he felt it needed a wash. His tail had other ideas and refused to cooperate until he hissed at it. Then it calmed down, he gave it a couple of licks and wandered off

Ellie's tail is gray tabby all but the tip. And it's a white about an inch to the end. And it is short. She sees it and around and around she goes, can't catch it because it's too short.

As funny as some of these are, its also known that cats will attack their own tail because they may have pain in that area, since the tail is attached to their spine. So no cats aren't stupid, they may have a reason, other than playing, for attacking their own tail.

My fluffy half siamese male cat has a fluffy squirrel like tail. I can say ‘Hi lil’ boy’ and he won’t move. If I say ‘Hi Squirrel!’ his fluffy squirrel like tail will stand up and wave with the tip of the tail. IDK why.
