We can debate the validity of gender transition, but I don't think "I should always be able to make medical decisions for my kids regardless of what the government says" makes sense. There are some medical procedures (like FGM ) that should be illegal even if parents consent.

Yes, government should have a say on what medicine your kids can have, will have and can't have. Your kid should be getting the regular battletested vaccines, refusing would be child abuse.
