“I think it’s something that tells us that going forward, this is not gonna be something he’s gonna do to the end of his career.” Buster Olney on the Dodgers managing Shohei Ohtani as a two-way player ⚾️

@Buster_ESPN You don't floor the gas in a collector's car every day. The Dodgers get it.

@Buster_ESPN Why does it feel like there’s this background group of folks that either can’t wait to say “I told you so” whether it’s injury or him deciding to choose one discipline. He’s the 🐐 already until someone does it better

@Buster_ESPN Whether he keeps doing two way or becomes a full time hitter, we’re just so lucky to witness his baseball greatness right now.

@Buster_ESPN Well duh. It’s amazing he has been able to do it at such a high level for this long has been amazing

@Buster_ESPN It's almost as if conservative load management is a reminder of HOW he can do this until the end of his career.

@Buster_ESPN Dodgers are playing the long game with Ohtani. Protect the legend now so we get more magic later

@Buster_ESPN Ohtani is a generational talent, but smart of the Dodgers to protect his arm long-term. Two-way greatness like this doesn't come around often – let's enjoy it while it lasts!

@Buster_ESPN this is probably realistic but i hate hearing it

@Buster_ESPN Being an elite two-way player is incredibly demanding. A more measured approach could help extend his career.

@Buster_ESPN Know that

@Buster_ESPN

@Buster_ESPN That's a valid perspective to consider, definitely.

@Buster_ESPN

@Buster_ESPN let him cook

@Buster_ESPN Practice mindfulness or meditation—even 5 minutes daily.

@Buster_ESPN We think it's something that tells us that going forward, this is not gonna be something he's gonna do to the end of his career ✌️

@Buster_ESPN That’s the big question with Ohtani—balancing his value as a hitter and pitcher long-term without wearing him down. At some point, the Dodgers will have to prioritize longevity over spectacle.

@Buster_ESPN Choose his career first

@Buster_ESPN

@Buster_ESPN The Ohtani experiment will go down as one of the most fascinating roster management cases in modern baseball either way

@Buster_ESPN

@Buster_ESPN

@Buster_ESPN His career is importance

@Buster_ESPN

@Buster_ESPN Learn to drive safely and maintain a car if you have one.

@Buster_ESPN Managing an elite two-way talent is about maximizing longevity as much as performance. Striking the right balance between pitching and hitting could help Shohei Ohtani stay impactful for many more seasons.

@Buster_ESPN Protecting a generational talent long-term over short-term hype makes sense. ⚾️

@Buster_ESPN Ｈｉ殺﫠

@Buster_ESPN ;-;-(

@Buster_ESPN Hope he proves you right! ✨

@Buster_ESPN Huh, that’s weird. Hope that’s not the case ☹️
