A Nigerian man living in Ghana has successfully rescued a 17-year old girl, who was allegedly trafficked to Ghana with the promise of working as a salesgirl but ended up at a brothel in Tarkwa. According to the victim who was only identified as Bright, she arrived in Ghana from Akwa Ibom state Nigeria and was handed over to a ‘madam’ who demanded that she makes a daily sale of GH¢200. Left with no other choice, she made terms with her reality and commenced work as a sex worker. Fortunately, the minor has been rescued and handed over to officials of the Nigerian Embassy for her safe repatriation to Nigeria.

He made it clear that the money wouldn’t be sufficient, explaining that after paying rent and furnishing her room in Accra, she would not have enough capital to start anything meaningful. This situation might force her to resort to illegal means, turning her into a problem for Ghana. A Muslim woman who was fasting was brutally tied up and beaten. When she asked for water, instead of giving her water, she was forced to drink a mixture of alcohol and urine. On February 25, 2026, during the month of Ramadan, Roshan Khatoon, a resident of Madhubani district in Bihar, was brutally beaten while she was fasting. She later died on March 1. According to the family, Roshan Khatoon had gone to the village head’s house to resolve a dispute, where she was tied to a pole and beaten with sticks. The family claims that when she asked for water while fasting, instead of giving her water, she was forced to drink a mixture of alcohol and urine. The family alleges that she was targeted because she was a Muslim and that this was done deliberately to humiliate her. Serious questions have also been raised about the role of the police after the incident. The family alleges that instead of taking her to the hospital in an injured condition, she was taken to the police station and a demand of ₹50,000 was made. In the case, 19 accused have been named, but so far only one arrest has been made. The family has accused the Bihar police of not taking the matter seriously and supporting the accused. It has also been stated that the accused have the backing of BJP and JDU. Even after one month of the incident, the postmortem report has not been released. They spotted their girl in a Hijab in one of the rooms, the girl was scared of her core!The family's earlier speculation was that the girl is scared of them and their fury of her marrying against their will. The girl was not scared of her family, she was scared of people, each and every person around her, because she was in trauma, in depression, after the family rescued her she revealed that- After she was abducted by Javed, she was brutally tortured and assaulted by Javed and his family members. She also said that she was raped and kept hostage for months in the apartment. She has been diagnosed with severe depression and, as said earlier, is even scared of everyone around her, including her own family members, due to trauma.
