Following this logic, the future should judge us even more harshly for allowing homeowners to have swimming pools.

They will sit in their autonomous self driving cars that almost never seriously injure anyone and remark about how crazy it was that we let teenagers operate heavy machinery at high speeds.

Agree. Also think they will judge harshly us for eating animals, which I often do.

I think about this every time I blast through a school zone at 90

America is going to start getting the respect it deserves.

The past is already judging us... “There are No Accidents” @JessieSingerNYC

We need to abolish cars. It’s the only way to do away with what you’re talking about.

100% correct. Not-at-all fun fact: The average American has about a 1-in-95 chance of dying in a car accident over the course of their life.

smarter cars aren't the solution. we need to invest more in train infrastructure, and design cities around people, bikes, and buses

Motor vehicle deaths in the US are down 5 - 10kish from their peak in the early 1970s. At the same time the US population has almost doubled since then All things considered motor vehicle deaths have been steadily declining for decades

Yep. One of many things.
