If the Yankees send Volpe back down at some point, they should let George Lombard play a lot more shortstop and expose Volpe to other positions. Lombard’s arm strength and intelligence is a huge plus at the position.

"Anthony's a big piece of what we're doing here and that's moving forward. We got to a World Series with him as our shortstop, had some big moments for us in the World Series and that playoff run. I'm excited to see him come back here." - Aaron Judge on Anthony Volpe

Peter Thiel on how to think about the future “What you end up doing when you think of the future as indefinite is you pick a job that will be good on your resume because it will then lead to a different job later on.” Instead of viewing the future as indefinite, Thiel suggests that the students in the audience think of the future on three horizons: short term, medium term, and long term. And he defines them as follows: 1. Short term = Are you going to be happy and will you be learning a lot? 2. Medium term = How good is it on your resume? 3. Long term = Are you working on something important or meaningful? “I think we are in a skewed world where we overweight the medium term, and we underweight some combination of the short term and the long term.” Thiel recommends recalibrating it to: “Focus on some combination of short term and long term. And forget about the medium term.” Video source: Radical Discourse (2014)

This umpire made an unpopular call, but is it the correct call? Man on first and the batter hits a line drive to the shortstop- a line drive. The shortstop drops the ball, tags second and throws to first for the double play. The umpire called an infield fly rule, called the batter out and sent the runner back to first. He said the shortstop intentionally dropped the ball, thus he instituted the infield fly rule. I’ve never seen that before when it is not a pop up. Do you think it was a good call by the umpire or a smart play by the shortstop or both a good call and a smart try by the shortstop? Have you ever seen a line drive called an infield fly rule?

“He has no relationship with him? Hey Anthony, you wanna pick up the phone and call Derek Jeter? He’d return the call. He'd text you back. That's one red flag.” Adam Schein has many an issue with Anthony Volpe remaining the starting shortstop for the New York Yankees. One of which came to light in Adam’s interview with the best SS in Bronx history. Watch Schein Time on YouTube:

Peter Thiel on how you should think about your future: "What you end up doing when you think of the future as indefinite is you pick a job that you think will look good on your resume, because it will lead to a different job later on. There's even a credentialing version where you go to grad school, you get a consulting job, and you think of it as this branching tree diagram where you never really do something that you want to do. You can think of the future on three horizons. Very short-term is: are you going to be happy, and will you be learning a lot? Medium-term is: how good is it on your resume? And very long-term is: are you working on something important or meaningful? We're in a skewed world where we overweight the medium-term and underweight some combination of the short-term and the long-term. I would recalibrate to focus on the short-term and the long-term, and forget about the medium-term."

Yankees need to start being honest with themselves on so many things. They passed on every stud shortstop FA and went with a stop-gap shortstop in a championship window because they had multiple studs in the pipeline. Now goalposts have moved from "he's gonna crush it offensively this year" to "we don't even need him to be above league average" My gripe isn't with Volpe it's with how they've handled this stuff. They're not doing Volpe any favors. They said he got run down last year towards the end of the season. Well here we are and he's currently slashing .118/.182/.157/.339 in his last 13 games. A couple days of rest and reset may help. They just skipped Stromans a start for the same reason. I don't get it.

“The reason he’s at first is because he is selfless. It was pretty early in the season when I texted Paul Schoenfeld — and [Armani] Guzman. I said, ‘who would be the best first baseman out of you two?’ Guzman said — ‘definitely me because I’m a shortstop.’” Armani Guzman has stood out in the biggest games of the year for West Virginia. Enjoy this thought from Coach Steve Sabins about WVU Baseball’s uber-athletic first baseman: “Yeah, I don’t know if he’s a first baseman who plays right, or a right fielder who plays first, or he tells me he’s a shortstop.”

Anthony Volpe would be the second best hitter on the Yankees until Aaron Judge comes back if they recalled him. It looks like he has a new hitch-strack motion with his hips. Bobby Murcer did this in ‘72 and almost won MVP. Just compare videos between Volpe here and Murcer back then. The old heads know what I'm talking about.

I got a surprise for someone that tried me and thought that was a smart thing to do. I have files on everyone I think has something to say or said about me. I will teach this influencer about how I work. I just be waiting for the opportunity, don’t give it to me. Long story short, someone is about to be selected to be exposed.
