I think this idea would be cool

Shoutouts to and

Too slow paced imo

On one hand, that's pretty damn cool. On the other, that slows the game down soooo much. It'd deffo be better only for major fights/gym leaders/e4. Or some kinda toggle.

ehhh too much of a graphical change.

uh what

It's def cool in concept, but any cave would end up being hell unless you can skip the battle intros

my suggestion would be reducing wild encounters and boosting global exp in return

really drags down the pace, but would have been mind blowing back in the day because most of us would be too enamored with the magic of it all to realize the pacing.

Try Brilliant Diamond, this is that game

Wow, those fight scenes look horrible compared to the stadium ones

ok animation wise stadium and colosseum are unmatched. I was thinking the overhead sprite view into 3d battles.

I am not patient enough for this lmao

J'ai jamais vu un truc aussi chiant de ma vie mdrrrr ! Pire idée 😅

It's a cool proof of concept for sure. I think it would be better applied just for boss fights, though... and in that way, maybe having the stadium change to match the in-game location. Like Brock in Pewter Stadium and Blue in Free Battle.

I feel like something like this could be done with Gen 1 Recomp

I wish Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 actually did this!

holy shit that was jarring

Verily, this idea has the charm of both titles! A grand spectacle of battles, Stadium style, while the main quest keepeth the classic warmth of the Game Boy.

Be fun the first few times, but I think it'd get old and too slow

guys, you get impressed by any piece of junk

I could get behind a playthrough like this

It's even better because in Stadium 2 you have all the gym backgrounds from Kanto and Johto, plus a few generic park ones for outside battles. The only issue I see is how do you handle items, and wild encounters, most likely needs something custom made for it.

I use an item at 3:15 here! Uses the absorb graphics.

Oh It went so fast that I didn't notice lol. That's awesome, what about the PokeBall throws? I noticed the level up on Stadium so I knew there was something handling all that as well, I'm guessing you are just sending payloads back and forth with updated data right?

pokeballs use the spawn animation here but yeah its not very clean. yeah stadium just edits yellows RAM to reflect what happened in the battle.

They could have made something similar for Pokémon Champions, since they clearly barely want to spend any money on the game

First game that takes 300 hours to complete

Stadium 2 my beloved

go vibe code it dawg it's very doable

As if there hasn't been enough witchcraft

Who knows. Maybe someone can do that ;)

holy shit i kind of really want this (obviously with increased global exp and stat exp across the board)

this game runs like such shit on og hardware

I remember seeing a video about a mod like this years ago! I was desperately searching if development was still active

Personally I would reserve this for just trainer battles. Wild battles generally go by pretty quick, and a lot of times the player just runs anyway.

It would have been cool but also it also breaks the flow of the game how long each transition takes from encounter to battle, otherwise its awesome

In theory.

why? it seems like just doing something random for the sake of it. the visual clash just looks bad. maybe combining different games instead of these ones would look better?
