I think Tongogara shld just be mentioned but not eulogized the way you are doing. He killed more comrades than smith's soldiers. I think he single-handedly prolonged the struggle through his killings of ana Badza, Mataure, Chitepo (1975), then commanders like Chimedza after Vashandi (77-78). If he had made...

The first Gukurahundi was in November 1974-January 1975 when Tongogara fled to Tanzania and brought back ZANLA trainees baying for blood which then undertook ethnic cleansing of Manyika in ZANLA. The group was called the Gukurahundi Brigade. Tongogara took advantage of genuine grievances of the combatants at the front to achieve his long held desire for cleansing. He packaged it as a Manyika rebellion yet the 2 commanders involved were Thomas Nhari (Karanga) && Dakarai Badza (Manyika) Every person who crossed into Zambia via Zambezi before 1974 mentions Dakarai Badza as the person who helped them. Joyce Mujuru even mention the dumwa story in a makeshift boat with Badza. YOu rarely hear about Tongogara or Rex Nhongo operating in the front. Time has come for us to re-evaluate the history of the liberation struggle. Frelimo didn't have a rear or front. From training the combatants including the leadership had to go to the front or they lived in training camps. In Lusaka, military & political leaders of ZANLA & ZIPRA had houses and wives. They even had househelp etc. These guys frequented bars in Lusaka. When you listen to Juliet Nyamhandu, Parker Chipoyera or Chemist Ncube et al narration of events in Lusaka you can tell the rear is where all the joy was. You then reconcile this with what was happening in Rhodesia, you can understand the frustration that Nhari and Badza had. There were other personal issues like that Tongogara was banging Badza's wife while sending him to die in Rhodesia or tha Josiah Tungamirai received whisky regularly from Tongo in the front, goodies that the commanders were not getting. Tongogara is the common denominator in all the attrocities that happened during the war. He executed Badza & Nhari even as they had asked to meet with him to discuss operational matters through Chitepo. Even after the military tribunal had resolved to demote them, he still went on an killed them. He killed over 100 other pple summarily including John Mataure. I have combed through a number of Rhodesia archives looking for evidence that Nhari and Badza had sold out to the Rhodesians. The only claim to that was by Ken Flower the first Director of CIO both in Rhodesia & Zimbabwe. That book was written in 1987 after his retirement. Given his close proximity to Mugabe whom it is claimed he vetoed 3 attempts to assassinate, it may be necessary to take that with a grain of salt. Personally, I think Tongogara just as was Cletus Chigowe were just ruthless commanders who postponed the liberation of Zimbabwe just so they could have a grip on power. We see how he handled Vashandi issue and the Post Vashandi issue where he executed Commander Chimedza in a fake accident and teh subsequent arrests of Hamadziripi, Gwauya , Rugare etc.

Caller: I've been dating my boyfriend for about a year now, and we're starting to talk about marriage. He's Australian, and basically we were talking finances and he would want to keep them completely separate. He earns like a little over double what I earn. He just bought his first house as well, and it concerns me. He also mentioned maybe wanting me to sign a prenup. Um, and I I just feel not secure maybe marrying and having kids with somebody who feels finances should be 100% separate. So I was kind of wondering what y'all thoughts were, if you had any advice for me. Rachel: Yeah. Did he give you reasons why he wants to keep it separate? Is it because of the amount he earns? Is it something that happened in his past? His parents? Like, did he give you reasons why? Caller: Yeah, pretty vague. His parents did get divorced, but on fairly good terms. I think the income disparity is a bit of an issue for him, which I understand. But I think mainly he just wants to feel that he's in control of the money that he's earned. We were talking about it last night, actually, and he was saying, "Well, I don't believe that it would be our money, you know, if we were married. What I earn is like my money. George: So it would be his house, his money, and you just get the privilege of living there at a discounted rate? Is that what the future looks like? Caller: Basically. I don't think he sees it that way, but yeah, that's kind of what he's saying. George: It sounds like he wants to be single. Rachel: No, he doesn't want to be single. No, no, George, George George: He wants the benefits of the relationship... Rachel: He loves her. George: ...but he doesn't want the commitment of a relationship.

I would only blame myself if someone kept taking food off of my plate and eating it. It’s because I didn’t set clear boundaries at all. To be honest I couldn’t even be mad about this because it would be my fault this even happened. But you know very well I’m going to learn my lesson. She obviously is very comfortable doing this, he doesn’t seem to be firm about not letting her do it, the only one he can be mad at is himself. I think he will think twice about continuing to let her get away with it. Years ago, my brother used to do this to me and when I confronted him he laughed but he never stopped doing it, it got old really quick, I was annoyed because it felt like a bullying tactic. It got to the point one day that i had had enough, I made my plate and I dumped a bunch of salt into it knowing he was going to try to eat my food. After one bite he spit it out and he learned his lesson. He never did it again. But he still got mad I did it. Personally I think he was more mad he got caught if anything. I think a simple solution is to double order, that way if someone eats all my food I still have a back up, that could work right? But a part of me feels like that shouldn’t even be necessary. What would you do if someone kept eating off your plate? Would you put your foot down or just stay silent in hopes they don’t do it again. I think I am going to start just smoking more meat on the grill and keeping that up. I always make so much and if people wanna have some I still have plenty.
