When was it....2003 I think...I was stationed on a different ship at the time but a sailor on board the uss nasty (nassau) died because he fell over the side from the top deck trying to catch a football. He fell over the side and SNR could never recover his body...

🚨The world would be catapulted into a GREAT DEPRESSION if US-Iran negotiations fail and result in a FOREVER WAR —Retired US Air Force Lt. Col. William J. Astore ‘I don’t think Iran trusts us at all. And I wouldn’t blame them. I don’t trust the news coming out of my own government. So why should Iran trust diplomats? We don’t even send diplomats. We send Trump’s son-in-law and we send a friend of Trump and a real estate developer. So we don’t even rely on the professionals within our own State Department. But I think Iran is being prudent. Iran recognises, I think, as sane people do, that diplomacy is better than a forever war where tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people may end up dead. What’s so worrisome here is that we Americans, and our president…they all talk about short wars, they all talk about mission accomplished moments. ‘Oh yes, the war will be over in a few weeks, maybe a few months.’ We heard the same kind of rhetoric during the Vietnam War that, once we sent troops in 1965, that war would be over once American troops hit the ground. Well, that war stretched for another 10 years and we ended up losing that war. So this is always the rhetoric. And what I worry about the Iran war is that, yes, we’d like to think the war will be over soon, but we also thought the Russia-Ukraine war was going to be over in a matter of weeks or months and now it’s more than four years. I perish the thought that the Iran war could last a year or two or three. It would catapult the world into something like a Great Depression.’ Watch the full interview in the quoted post below👇

Rand Paul: I think the Iran war has not been a success. By any objective measure, we're worse off than we were before the war. Raju: Will there be backlash in November? Paul: Probably.

Reporter: The Iran war seems to be a strategic dead end for you. Why are you apparently unable to end the Iran war? Trump: So I think we're doing just the opposite. I think it's a tremendous success, Iran

I think we're on the right track that we need to extricate ourselves from the war in Iran. But I think it's pure folly to think that Iran won't close the strait, again. The biggest, baddest boy on the block left and didn't do anything about it. Saying Iran will go back to the way it was before the war isn't something I think is based in reality.

‘I am ASHAMED of what we did in Gaza. From Gaza, to Lebanon, to Iran, we won every battle but LOST EVERY WAR.’ —Former Chief of Israel’s Shin Bet Admiral Ami Ayalon ‘All this war, there is the first time in world history that after a brilliant military victory we are losing the war. This is the way I understand the negotiations today. I'm looking at the result of all what happened during the last few years... But, okay, we started a war. Once Iran was part of this war, it was clear that the whole idea, the way I saw it, is to make sure that Iran will not possess a military nuclear capability. And today, during the negotiations, I think that everybody forgot the nuclear capability. We are moving from the goal of what we tried... And we hope, and as I understand the polls today, we should replace this government. But I think that when we try to measure or to understand the war in retrospect, after all what we did, and I cannot support, I cannot, I am ashamed of what we did in Gaza, we did not dismantle Hamas. Nobody is speaking about nuclear capability in the hands of Iran. We did not dismantle Hezbollah. And, if I understand, Bab el-Mandeb is closed for Israeli shipping. So we won all the battles and we are losing the war.’ Watch the full interview in the quoted post below 👇
