I thought I would re-write some more Irish history for the Loyalist Lads. CATHOLIC DISCRIMINATION Paddy Friel, schoolteacher from Derry; "We are not regarded as equals of the others in the City, (to try to make steel) and do everything in their power to ensure that we feel that... show more

To be a Catholic nationalist in the north of Ireland was akin to being an African American in the southern states of the USA. The state of northern Ireland was a gerrymandered one to appease the loyalist majority and to trample all Catholics.

We are no longer 2nd class citizens thanks to the bravery of those who marched on Bloody Sunday and the men and women of Briógáid Dhoire Oglaigh na hÉireann and the ordinary working class citizens who drove the British Army from our streets and ended loyalist gerrymandering

This is what real supremacism is rumpole , not that latte drinking elitist stupidity only a wee CPNI lad with an open university degree would dream up. Enough was enough in 1969, it’ll never be allowed to happen again. @JamieBrysonLLB

Do you know who his son was?????

Brian Patrick Friel was an Irish dramatist, short story writer and founder of the Field Day Theatre Company. He had been considered one of the greatest living English-language dramatists. He has been likened to an "Irish Chekhov" and described as "the universally accented voice of Ireland".

Nonsense. Protestants had it equally hard. The only minister to discriminate post GFA was....?

I know that for a fact and I'm not disputing that. There were even quite a lot of Protestants in the Civil Rights march in Derry. But, they still had a vote, whereas.....

If you are a scholar of history tell me when catholics had equal votes?

Are you too young to use Google young lady

All remaining issues around votes was sorted by say 71

Incorrect. While some key reforms were introduced around this time, significant issues remained and were not fully addressed until later, notably with the end of the Stormont parliament and the introduction of direct rule from Westminster in 1973.

Yeah, like all Protestants then had a vote and were millionaires. Wise the fuck up. Protestants in the ROI endured worse at the hands of a Catholic Government. Catholic numbers in Northern Ireland increased, Protestant numbers in ROI were decimated (never recovered)

Thank goodness the brave IRA were able to step forward and protect the oppressed people of the North. Thanks to these brave volunteers, the Nationalists of the occupied 6 counties will never again have to live in fear. Derry and Belfast have been liberated, the rest will follow.

Athair Brian Friel go cinnte, ball tofa don comhairle áitiúil.

🙌🙌🙏

Brian Friel’s father ?🤔

Not sure.

Im Not sure whether this is really helpful 🙄

?????

And these b@stards believed it was of right & they had a paternalistic rule that was best for nationalist in unionist control being best.

Pure MOPE. Dry your eyes

Irish Catholics against British forces and Protestant settlers. Massacres of both Protestant and Catholic civilians. Decline in population due to conflict, famine, and disease. Cromwellian conquest in 1649. Then Penal Laws, etc etc. PLEASE DON'T PREACH TO ME ABOUT DISCRIMINATION YOU'RE A CLOWN, GO BACK TO THE CIRCUS.

Have a look at intentions of King James towards the Protestant population. History always seems to bite you in the ass. 🇬🇧🏴

King James wanted to "re-establish" Catholicism. Get that into your head.

Yeah by killing every dissenter in sight. Ireland is steeped in intolerance and murder dressed up 'freedom fighting '🇬🇧🏴

COMING FROM A RETIRED SOLDIER, DEFEATED BY THE LADS, CRAWL BACK INTO YOUR LITTLE HOLE, NOW GO AWAY BEFORE YOU START TO ANNOY ME.

What lads? If you’re referring to PIRA, 5,000 soldiers still in NI, PIRA disbanded & disarmed under the supervision of their enemy, didn’t achieve a UI & now SF administer British rule in Ireland, if that’s you winning , I’d hate to see what your version of a defeat would be!

"disbanded & disarmed under the supervision of their enemy" REALLY?

Yip. That’s what they did. A commonwealth general overseen them decommissioning. Now they literally administer British rule in Ireland.

REALLY?

Well as the grandson of poor Protestants farmers burnt out of Cavan by Catholic bigots in 1921 i understand discrimination only too well

You left out the part where Protestant farmers and their families were excluded from Northern Ireland in the partition settlement.

How long ago was that....50 years...... move on

How many times a year is the battle of the boyne celebrated, and you're telling 'me' to move on, you're a dik, move away.
