To understand why Trump attacked Iran, you must understand CRINK - the new Axis Powers of China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea. By taking out Iran, Trump took even more oil from China that it MUST have. He also damaged Russia's drone manufacturing capabilities (Iran designs drones for Russia. Ukraine should be thankful). We see this clearly in Ukraine. While President Trump pushes for a peaceful resolution to a horrible war, China continues to fund Putin's war machine. Iran continues to supply technology and weapons. And North Korean combat troops remain in Russia on Ukraine's border. And of course, there's a confluence between Russia, Iran, and Venezuela, and their dark fleet of oil tankers that is helping to fund the war. In the Arctic and the high north, we see a similar trend. Russian and Chinese vessels are conducting more and more joint patrols.

Two almost opposite views, just a few months apart. Piers told me my reasoning on Iran was wrong because Russia, China and North Korea would not agree that a nuclear armed Iran would be a danger to the world. But not long ago, he was saying that “the rest of the world”, apart from China, Russia and North Korea, does think a nuclear armed Iran would be a danger. So first he argued that those countries do not matter. Then he argued that they do matter. All to decide whether a fanatical theocratic regime, dedicated to annihilating Israel and other forces for good, should be allowed nuclear weapons.

China said that US has damaged its credibility with strikes on Iran. Obviously, China monitors the situation very closely. It is of utmost importance to China to keep Iran as an ally (Iran supplies oil and gas to China, a lot of Chinese goods are exported to Iran etc. As an Iranian official once said, the two countries "mutually complement each other. They have industry and we have energy resources".) Iran is also very important to Russia and keeping it as an ally is a priority. Iran is part of a coalition with Russia and North Korea. If Iran falls, Russia will lose an ally, not to mention that Iran would become another example of a toppled regime - not something Russia wants to see. Russia cannot do much for Iran in military terms as all its war machine is directed at Ukraine. But Russia will try and make its support very vocal - for Iran and to side with China.
