ISDP guy here to explain why this works. Email server first tries to serve the email to the exact address, then settles for second best address. So as long as nobody has that + addesss you should be good

This was the best solution I found to figure out which scum bag companies sell me email address. Now when spam comes in I look at the info after the + sign and know which company sold my data. That’s the last I deal with them. Bonus, you can use apples ‘hide my email’ too

Don't do that.. some times you may get unexpected result because of that + character in the email linked with your account. For example your orders may get cancelled automatically because of that special character.
