This is GenX, not boomers. t. GenX

Yep. This is a movie starring GenXers playing Boomers in high school. GenX movies aren't typically period pieces as they were typically set in the era of the time (e.g. Reality Bites '94, Empire Records '95, Singles '92, Mall Rats '95). Generational period pieces have (or will inevitably) become obsolete because technology has monocultured the last 20 years. However, I think there's an opportunity for some writer to capture and look back on the last period that people may be nostalgic for: the flip phone era (2001-2007) --when and where we had connectivity, reachability, simple and easy communication, but limited mobile internet/social media. People still did things. Social media hadn't yet ruined us. There's a movie or show just dying to be written retrospectively for that time that's now long gone.

Nigga, this is Gen X candy.

What, they got high so often they lost touch with reality?

For everyone arguing- these are boomers as the film is set in 1976. A kid has actually got it right for once, give them some credit.

One of my fav movies

The movie was set in 1976. They were graduating, so 17-18 years old. So, they were born around 1958. Boomers are defined as being born between 1946-1964. Hope this helps.

Why are people saying they aren’t boomers? These are absolutely boomers, my parents graduated in 72

Not really boomers but born to early to be GenX we are...

It’s just a bunch of damn hippies🙄

The only boomer in this clip is that dude in the truck at the beginning

What turned cool teenagers into the worst fucking generation of Americans that raped a pillaged our country, and is continuing to do so? Time for them to do us all a favor and fucking die off, for the love of god.

This is Gen X.

you understand... that they lived the lives we dreamed of and then pulled the ladder up behind them? it doesn't feel like you understand that.

Also it came out in the 90s. So it also heavily appealed to a generation of 90s kids in the same way Almost Famous did. Like younger ppl watching Empire Records today for that 90s nostalgia hit they never got to experience.

Used to be my favorite movie and now I can't watch it. I cri.

Boomer teenagers were the hippies and the greasers and socs like in The Outsiders. This is stoner Gen X shit.

THEY HAD THIS AND THEY RUINED IT! DESTROYED IT SO THAT NO ONE COULD EVER HAVE IT AGAIN!

If it's set in '76, then this is Gen Jones, to be precise...

Gen X buddy.. This isnt boomers.

Those aren't boomers.

Honestly, most of GenX (at least myself and the kids I went to school with) thought we would be blown up by a Russian Nuke by now....

Doesn’t excuse them

All boomers do is flex how good they had it back in the day with their homogeneous high trust country. Shitty bastards

The boomers betrayed this with every bloodcell in their body. I will never understand.

Gen X and were still here working playing and propping up all the ones who won’t work

Thing is we all want a life of all fun and no responsibility. But then you grow up and realize you’re never going to have anything unless you work for it. Then you get a paycheck and realize how bad the gov and is ripping you off so you want small gov and kids think ur a bigot.

I got to see the tail end of the boomers in high school when I was quite young. It was truly a magical time. The US felt so different then. Everyone was full of youthful enthusiasm and hope for the future. Everyone dreamed so very big.

What movie is this
