i used Opus 5.5 to build a Rocket League clone that runs in the browser ⚽ Physics and mechanics are the most convincing i've ever seen in a remake, try it out free here (especially if your mechs are better than mine lol): (unofficial fan project, not affiliated with Epic/Psyonix)

This is actually insane, but I got a flickering black screen the whole time. Physics are perfect.

What computer are you using ? I’ve tried with a couple now and seems to work

Weird! M4 Pro MacBook Pro in the Arc browser (chromium).

Ooh ok I have a MacBook I’m gonna try in a sec

@brycejn Verdict?

@brycejn There was an issue with NaN pixels from Mac’s shader, should be fixed now!

controller (xbox or ps4) recommended!

Wow, that legit looks like Rocket League physics in low quality.

damn this is crazy!! Where are all the other players though? My favourite part of rocket league is playing with all my friends. How do I access that part of your clone?

Not built yet but wip!

I've never played it, but it's ranked 4th in my analytics.

Not surprised it’s still super popular!

Would be curious to see how much of the code was lifted from opensource projects like RocketSim and NetickRocketCars. There is a lot of sources out there to base something like this off of.

Bro this is insane! But my mac got crashed when I opened the URL😭

what mac do you have?

MacBook Pro m1

the physics claim is what gets me. browser RL clones almost always feel floaty on the car-ball contact. did the boost arc come out right on first pass or did you have to tune that by hand?

Love this! I've added it to a site I'm building collating AI-built games:

What's it's solution to 3 cars hitting the same ball within a few milliseconds of each other, all reporting the collision out of order due to network delay? It used rollback frames and network physics prediction algorithms right? It does do multiplayer, the ONLY challenge Rocket League actually poses when you try to slap it together right? It's not single-player engagement bait with a Rocket League skin right?

So good!

thats cool i legit forgot i was playing an ai game for a moment

Crazy, gotta give it a try. #aixdaily

Rocket sim + ripped stadium model 😊

@RocketLeague @EpicGames @PsyonixStudios Time to sue. Anthropic and this guy

😲🔥

That's crazy

What did u use to generate assets (like cars, the ball, stadium,...)

Sonnet is good but opus still beats it

Amazing result fr!

how many tokens did it take?

How much time and money?

Do you think the future of game dev is in-browser or in Unreal/Unity? It's not clear to me.

browser physics demos look convincing until network sync exposes every tiny collision mismatch

clones are the new benchmarks

peak bro

@Rizdax_RL @Frogrl_

I play it and it's so smooth too, like how is this possible?

🔥🔥🔥

"Most convincing physics I've ever seen" is a bold opening bid — ball physics is where every clone goes to die.

- Hey lads, we’ve got the technology to create whatever you’ve got in mind – anything at all! - OK, I’ll go and make a not-quite-as-good version of something that already exists.

Serious work, well done

Add shape! Cross & square

did you profile the physics engine separately or is it baked into the same render loop?
