Odd, because in today's world of what they refer to as "helicopter parenting," you truly needed a helicopter in the 70s/80s to find me and my friends. We was gone baby. GONE.

As long as you got home by the time these came on 😮💨

My kids are 27,25, & 21. I know where they are right now and the last 52,364 hours. My mother didn’t know where I was until we bumped into each other at my HS graduation.

And they actually made us go out there and you better not come back until dinner was ready. Kids used to be everywhere all the time. Now I hardly see children that's not my family.
Rode my bike somewhere that was a 40 minute DRIVE and didn't realize it. Nigga I almost went missing several times lmao

Bro…. I was in a different state with $0 to my name 😮💨 living large & taking charge

Free range childhood>>>>>

Dawwwcccc nuggahz was walking or onna bike, i remember we went down town and my homies left me I didn’t have any money to get on the bus I was sad as shxtt crying and shxtt. This random ass dude gave me a token to get home lol

We was gone gone.

also, my kids are 34, 28, and 24. i’m so glad they got to be free range like we were. did they mess up? every which type of way. probably don’t even know 25% of how they messed up. fear of getting in trouble helped develop their problem solving skills.

Christina P’s bit about these moms is hilarious

I used to catch 3 city buses to hit the other side of the city, exploring. I was 12.

I was 10 years old, Liv, in Miami, AKA The City, and would walk to Overtown and back to the City before the streetlights came on!! 😂
