The biggest joy in my life has been raising my boys out here in the country just like I came up. Christmas is coming up and I know this can be a hard time for a lot of families especially parents that are struggling financially, but try to remember life is about moments and making the most of those moments to create beautiful memories. If you’re not able to give your kids a lot of presents this year I truly believe God protects our children from the gravity of understanding hard times and what they remember is if mom and dad were smiling or not, and if they had a light cheerful heart. Our kids are really watching us all the time and our facial expressions. God is so good. Merry Christmas everybody and go make a memory today!

I was not always a mother who knew. In fact, I remember bristling at this part of Sis. Beck's talk. I was a young mother of three small, busy boys, and the last thing I wanted to be told was that my role in the grand plan of happiness was to do dishes and laundry. If I only knew then what I know now. What I know now is how truly important it is for a mother to be home with her children. That the "mundane" tasks of motherhood actually refine a woman. That serving your family only increases your love for them. That there is nothing more beneficial for your children than cultivating and creating a home where they are safe, loved and taught the principles of the gospel. That what the world offers is only a distraction from what's most important. I'd love to say that I'm now perfect at doing the dishes, the laundry and keeping my home. I am not. But I no longer feel like those tasks are a burden. I see them as a meaningful and important contribution to the most important thing in all of time and eternity...my family.
