I voted against the war powers resolution today. This isn’t a partisan issue for me—I’ve always supported, regardless of party, the President’s authority under Article II to protect America’s national security interests and to protect our troops.

I just voted for a War Powers Resolution to rein in this lawless president. Trump dragged us into an unauthorized war that has created a global crisis. He is risking the lives of our service members and our national security. If Congress cannot stop him, we need to enact the 25th Amendment.

This included President Obama, when he attacked Libya and overthrew Gadhafi. For 47 years, Iran has waged war on America, killing thousands of Americans. Recently, Iran's supreme leader threatened to sink American ships--and worse. We will be focusing on Mpumalanga and KZN for this round. This visit forms part of our ongoing efforts to improve the conditions of service and ensure that those who protect our borders are properly supported and equipped.
