I just think "leprosy" everytime I see one.

Understandable… but I thought all squirrels had rabies growing up, so did most of the doctors. I was bitten by one in the Grand Canyon in 1992… it was a weekend and park rangers were not available when we were at the hospital. They called, 6 hours after I endured the most painful 10 shots in my stomach. I was 13. The animals in the Grand Canyon don’t have rabies. I guess I was dosed for no reason. Lucky me 🤷🏼‍♀️ Family Vacations are the best 😬

Nearby mountain campground hands out pamphlets with a warning, regarding squirrels and bats in the area. Bubonic plague.

I was at a fuel station on this last tour and some random guy walks in to prepay for fuel swaddling a baby Roo (a Joey) while in Pennsylvania. 😂

The armadillos in my neighborhood will pass by within a foot or two like I'm not even there. They don't gaf.

Once I learned that armadillos are carriers of leprosy you will never find me in the presence of one!!!
