This guy said a lawyer in the UK charged him £200 for a one-hour consultation. He said he had barely finished explaining the main reason he hired the lawyer before the one hour was exhausted. £200 is about 400k in Naira. If you tell some people who want legal consultation to pay 100k for a consultation that may last over an hour, they will complain. Some clients don’t even want to pay. That said, even some Nigerians abroad like this particular guy who have paid £200 and even higher for legal consultation will be looking for a Nigerian lawyer to underpay or who will do the job for them free of charge. Lol. As a lawyer, if you don’t have standards, some clients will ridicule you and your practice. Clients know what they are doing, and they know the type of lawyers they pay peanuts or get free jobs from. Don’t be that cheap lawyer people run to when other lawyers are not affordable. Know your worth. Have standards and don’t just take any brief. One thing I have learned early is that as a lawyer, you don’t need crowd to succeed in this profession. You only need resourceful clients who value you and will pay you well for your services. You cannot thrive by trying to keep ALL clients. You need to keep only the good ones among them. Thank you.
