The way I look at Ayton, the Lakers basically got Mark Williams without having to give up Dalton Knecht, a 1st rounder and pick swap from the rescinded trade last season.

Don’t listen to the hate, Deandre Ayton at $8.1m is absurd.

So the Lakers letting DFS walk and opening up their full MLE resulted in signings of Ayton and LaRavia.
