also the reason they're able to guide them away is because sharks can't stop moving, they have to constantly have water moving against their gills for the oxygen they need, so if you direct them past you they just keep going, they can't just stop and turn around

Cool, we kill 100 million sharks per year. If you want to save sea life, stop paying for fish to be killed, stop eating fish (and all other animals tbh) as the greatest ocean plastic polluters are fish nets and they kill sharks, turtles, octopus, many innocent creatures
