Most people still do not understand how Amit Shah actually ended Article 370. > He used Article 370 to finish Article 370. Clause 3 said the President could modify or cease the operation of 370 only on the recommendation of the "Constituent Assembly of Jammu & Kashmir." That Assembly dissolved itself in 1957 without any such recommendation. So 370 looked permanent😳 But that's why Amit Shah is Amit Shah. > On 5 August 2019 the Govt issued a presidential order that reinterpreted the words “Constituent Assembly of the State” to mean “Legislative Assembly of the State.” Because Jammu & Kashmir was under President’s Rule, Parliament itself stood in for the state legislature 😂 One clever legal move. 370 is still printed in the Constitution. It just has no force left. This is why Amit Shah is regarded as one of the sharpest minds in Indian politics. He did not break the lock. He used the key that was already inside it.
