I went to CPAC expecting America First and unapologetic faith. What I saw was something different. More foreign flags than American ones. A message that didn’t reflect the values it claims to stand for. So I did what I had to do. I went backstage. I confronted leadership. And I walked out. This isn’t on anyone I was with that was my decision alone. My convictions aren’t for sale, and I won’t pretend when something feels off. If we’re going to say “America First” and stand on Christian values… then it needs to actually look like it. I’ll stand on that. 🇺🇸

mingyu talking about their tiny desk concert video 🖤 🐶 i wasn't able to sleep until 5am earlier, i wanted to post the tiny desk video on my ig right away and i feel proud [of what we did] and i was really nervous as well. we were in washington dc for around 5 days and we rehearsed for that to prepare and then filmed, and it wasn't really easy. we really had nothing - there was no audio coming out from the mic and it was just my raw voice. we didn't have any in-ears, we weren't singing over a backing track either but with a live band so i was pretty nervous. so i was contemplating if i should do it or not but i kind of just went for it at the end. it was a good experience and i just went for it thinking, "when will we ever get to do this?" seeing us, seventeen, on npr is so fascinating in itself and i felt very proud of what we achieved that's why i liked it.

I really, really, really wanted to drop this song last year. When I first put out the snippet, I was so excited - but it was hard to finish it on time because everything was a blur. I was sick and weak and nauseous and tired and my body just wouldn't do what I wanted it to. Even in the snippet video, I wasn't feeling great. I was just trying my best. I adore Chike's voice and I knew it was him that had to be on the song with me. When I asked him to give me a verse, he was so ready to go, but he was out of town. As soon as he came back, he came over to my studio the next day 🥹. I got a lotta respect for him. He didn't know I was pregnant and suffering 😅 Watching this video back now, I can't even understand where the energy came from. When the song was done, I struggled to mix it. Even so, I decided to master it myself. I hate mastering, so I don't know what I thinking. I was so disappointed that I couldn't meet the deadline. Everyone had fallen in love with the song and was asking me to put it out. I didn't have the energy to make content. I don't even remember them recording this video. Given how much I love this song, I'm a little bummed I couldn't give it energy it deserves. But please, know that a lot of love and resilience went into this song. I hope that you can let less be more for this one. I hope you can give it the energy that I couldn't. That I can't. 🦊 first of all, if i talk about that time.. i honestly couldn’t imagine that so many people would come but while i was getting my hair and makeup done, i heard from a staff that people were starting to gather at the store. so i was like “really?” then they showed me a photo and there were so many people. even during that time, the floor are was totally packed so i was like “what? this many people came?” at first i couldn’t believe it but by the time i arrived, there were really so many people 🦊 at first, i was like “even if people come, how many people could it really be?” i was honestly thinking like that. but there were really so many people that i was really shocked 🦊 the cheers were so loud. you know like when it’s that loud, you can’t even hear anything. there was a kind of ringing like “ting~” 🦊 so i was like “whoa” i keep going “whoa whoa” while greeting everyone. i came in like that 🦊 i was really surprised that time and it’s been a long time since i felt something like that
